In the long run you will see more native 4k games on X1X than Pro so MS isn't wrong here either. Both company's flagship racing games, GT Sport is 1800p and Forza 7 is native 4K.

The biggest difference is probably gonna be in their first party titles. We'll probably start seeing real differences around next year.

ME: Andromeda ran at 1800p on Pro, this is seemingly running on 2160p on XB X on the same engine, let's see if the engine is optimized for the Pro for Anthem or if they use the same specs as Andromeda.

Also GT Sport is maybe not the best example, it's still using the legacy PS3 engine, the beta pics people are posting are honestly very disappointing. I think Driveclub had better tech (even if it was 30 FPS) comparatively.

I think MS might be a little late to the party. As due to PS4 sales, most Devs would make the games for PS4 pro and Scorpio quite similar, and Sony can release PS5 in 2.5-3 years time. Also Xbox doesnt have an exclusive lineup anymore, everything is going to PC..so the reason to buy a console automatically goes towards PS4 (due to exclusives)
but this is just my thinking..

A PS4 only gamer is more likely to stick to the console ecosystem than jump into building a new PC, so Xbox remains the only console to play all the "exclusives" NOT available on the PS4. And people who already have a PC, well, MS is still making money through software by keeping those games exclusives to the Windows Store.

[h=1]Anthem gameplay demo lives up to Xbox One X’s 4K promises[/h]

[h=2]Anthem will be released next year[/h]

Anthem, BioWare’s next big action role-playing game, looked stunning in its Xbox One X gameplay demo from Microsoft’s E3 press briefing. But how does it hold up to scrutiny?

The team at Digital Foundry examined the Anthem gameplay footage that was said to be running on Xbox One X, which Microsoft is billing as the most powerful gaming console ever. Digital Foundry confirmed a 3840x2160 resolution, but with a slight catch: The 4K output is paired with artifacting, which indicates checkerboard rendering, a technique that refers to only rendering 50 percent of a scene and interpolating the rest. This is a method used to great effect in titles like Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn to achieve 4K resolution.
Despite that, motion blurring helps to smoothen the image out and, as Digital Foundry notes, “The feed still comes out looking pin-sharp.” The video ends with Digital Foundry pointing out that while the demo isn’t necessarily a clear example of how the final game will run, it does look promising for what Microsoft wants to accomplish when it comes to 4K gaming on the Xbox One X.
Anthem is set in a post-apocalyptic world where giant monsters run rampant. The game features lush worlds and beautiful environments that players will have the option to explore. You can watch extended gameplay footage, which features a more in-depth look at characters’ exosuits, called Javelins.

The full video, including Digital Foundry’s analysis, can be seen above. Anthem will be released in 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

Cmon, realistically you will find many more gamers with a PCs than without one. (I would say nearly 75 % of anyone into gaming these days, they have PC)

Now why will these guys a xbox one over a PS4?

I really doubt that figure. Unless you count anyone with a laptop and a Steam/Battle.net account too who play Dota 2, LoL or Hearthstone etc. Even in that case I wouldnt say they are more likely to build an expensive desktop, they'd rather invest in X1X (or Ps Pro), otherwise they'd already have a console beating gaming PC. I know many such gamers infact, who kept a laptop for studies and light gaming (FIFA on the go, Dota 2 etc) and have a console at home for games their non-gaming laptops can't run. This seems like a more common scenario to me than 75% of people having top end gaming PCs.

oh no..I am not talking about gaming PCs..I am with you on that, totally counting people who CAN play normal games on medium setting on PCs/laptops . To these people and to hardcore audience PS4 would feel like more of an attractive option - since it has multiplats and awesome exclusives .

So you're only counting people who already have somewhat capable gaming PCs. But those laptops can't run games like Forza 7, Forza Horizon 3, Crackdown 3, State of decay 2, Gears 4 even on medium settings. And like I said before, MS is prolly okay with that and still makes money through Windows store.

And there is also a crowd who buys consoles for only for your annual CoD, BF, Madden, NBA and FIFA, as evident by some of those games outselling the 'awesome exclusives' on PS4 alone :p

Again...I am not counting ONLY them..I am counting all PC owners.

so the choice becomes PC + PS4 / Pro or PC + Xbox (XboxX when it comes out) or PS4/pro or XBox/XbX

Your argument about people will buy due to xbox exclusives falls short on account of
1. Xbox "exclusives" (in "" since in reality it doesn't have any anymore) are not as good - nor as many - as PS4 exclusives.

2. What I said was not MS will make money one way or the other, I said MS is late with its product (in this case Xbox X) imo.

Also there is no argument to be made here...since PS4 has outsold Xbox buy a large margin, clearly most people would seem to agree with me. They wanted a console, they bought a PS 4.

I gave you scenarios where people are likely to buy an Xbox than build a PC. Thats what you initially asked in the first place. Rest of your points are not relevant to that.

Sony was late last gen and fell behind in sales to Xbox and Wii, though you'd still argue it had better exclusives, so that point again, isn't relevant to the discussion. Wii outsold PS3 , Xbox 360 outsold PS3 so most people wanted that and not your awesome exclusives. Most people would agree with me. Lol (not a strong argument Nanow)

There is a reason for that..Xbox was way earlier to the market, their exclusive library was established by the time ps3 showed up and was much cheaper...similar what is happening right now with case of ps4 pro/ps4 against xbox...but eventually ps3 sold very very well due to a large part of its exclusive lib

Wii outsold everyone because the target market was totally different, it had revolutionized gameplay mechanic and it was much cheaper than either two.

@NaNoW yo, people I know do all their gaming on a console and don't care about PC, therefore it must mean most PS4 gamers out there are unlikely to consider the PC as their secondary gaming platform over an XBX. Because gaming on a PC is a rocket science only a gifted few can comprehend. (sm1)

P.S. Fun fact: PS3 ultimately caught up to X360 sales, despite the latter having a 1 year lead. Of course exclusives had nothing to do with that feat lol.

EA and BioWare are planning to pull a
Destiny with Anthem, revealing a 10-year plan for the co-op action game going forward.

Talking to Microsoft’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb, Patrick Soderlund of EA said that development on Anthem had been ongoing for four years, and that day one was the beginning of a 10-year journey for the game.

Let’s hope that doesn’t mean a series of overpriced, content light expansion packs and a sequel three years down the line.

“Anthem is a social game where you and your friends go on quests and journeys,” said Soderlund. “It’s a game that we’ve been working on for almost four years now, and once we launch it next year I think it’ll be the start of a ten-year journey for us.”

Anthem promises to be the start of something huge then, and a world that will expand and change over time. Let’s just hope this isn’t EA over-promising because the gaming world could do with another WoW-like online phenomenon and BioWare needs to find solid ground after the
Mass Effect Andromeda controversy.

Anthem is due out in Q3 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Remember Anthem? It’s BioWare’s Destiny, which they announced to quite a lot of (our own) excitement back at E3. There’s been precisely zero news since with it even skipping Gamescom entirely. Now, thanks to a tweet from game director Jonathan Warner, we now know it will be getting a beta - which, yeah, just about everyone had guessed already.

Here’s the tweet:

If this game dont get a beta like ME:A, Imma assume it's dead in the water.
