No visual/texture mods applied. This is the game as is.

It's good to be replaying (arguably) the greatest video game trilogy of all time.

The texture mod is a pain in the ass to install so I'm OK without it. More authentic this way

Bioware had acknowledged the same earlier, but no one believed it because they work for EA.

^I did that too to get the discount on that store. Finished ME 2 last night just in time for Sekiro. ME2 is to ME1 what Assassins Creed 2 was to AC 1. Superb game in every freakin way. ME3 takes the back stage for now at least until after Days Gone.

Back to more important stuff. Rounding off Mass Effect 2 with the DLC.


Shadow Broker, still one of the best individual pieces of DLC expansion content for any game ever. Also, best video game kiss if you play it as loyal to Liara.

And while *most* of Arrival is pretty bad and they tried to imitate the first Sovereign meeting from ME1. The ending is pretty fucking fantastic in setting up Mass Effect 3.

Man. Mass Effect 2 is such an amazing game. They could have released the exact game today and even without the hindsight of nostalgia, it would have been received very well. Much better than Andromeda at least.

True that... ME 2 is an amazing game in every way. I'm at the middle of ME3 and something just doesnt feel right about it especially playing it straight after finishing the amazing ME2. Although i havent finished ME3 yet I think my list would end up like this ME2 > ME1 >ME3.

Both ME2 and 3 add a ton of essential quality of life improvements over ME1 which cannot be ignored though.

If you played the games in their order of release, going from ME1 to ME2 was a technical marvel on the Xbox 360. ME 1 was a veeeeeeeeeery poorly optimized game. Really bad frame rate, very frequent loading pauses and textures taking seconds to load up in areas right in front of you. Of course modern PCs and texture mods etc have fixed all that now. But still, I always have that recollection and it always paints a slightly biased picture for me against ME1 (despite how good it is).

I would say ME2 > ME1=ME3 (w/ all story DLC)

Thats how I'd rate the franchise as well, though in some aspects ME1 was better than both (specifically story and RPG elements).

I started ME3 and finished up till the Tuchanka parts in the story. Man. *EA* really fucked up the game's original release, poor Bioware really got the small end of the stick. Javik is such a necessity to the game, anyone who played the game without Javik from the start really missed out. Also, as much as people whine about ME3's ending .. everything else in the game is classic Bioware. Really well written characters, scenarios and concrete resolutions to the big story beats established in the first 2 games (Genophage, the Geth/Quarian conflict, Miranda's father, Cerebrus etc) and bringing in characters and places from the ME books (Grisham Academy and Kayle Sanders etc)

Playing the game with all the DLC installed is the way the game should be played and it's a shame people did not have access to this "complete" version of Mass Effect 3 for almost half a year after the original release.

I started the trilogy right after Anthem's release so it took me a good month and half to finish all 3 games. The trilogy does not include DLC chapters to i missed out on JAVIK. I did have the extended ending installed right from the very start of ME3 though.

If you ever get the chance to replay ME3, get the DLC too (which I know is still priced absurdly high on platforms .. also another reason to be sad why there was never a complete remaster released). There are 3 big DLC pieces for ME3 which I would say are essential. Omega, Leviathan and Citadel. Leviathan is *very* necessary to the series's plot and understanding the Reaper's history and Citadel is basically just a big 5 hour party with all the characters from all 3 games coming together for nothing but fun. It's like a big "thank you" from Bioware to all the fans. Literally Citadel is about planning a big party and some wacky events happen (including but not limited to Grunt and Wrex literally butting heads with each other to see whose the strongest, Javik getting drunk and reciting poetry, Shepard and James having a literal pull up competition and hundreds of more events like this which just make you smile as a fan of the franchise).

Similarly, Mass Effect 2's Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival DLC's are essential for plot.
