Check this video out guys. The Ryzen 7 1700 is essentially the EXACT SAME CHIP as the 1700X and 1800X, and CAN Overclock to the same max limit of 4.1Ghz of the 1800X (max stable OC achieved by everybody on the internet)... Tbh, Only a total idiot would buy the 1700x and the 1800x

They're definitely binning I think, if ones lucky with his 1700 then it's gonna reach 1800X levels.

f they're binning, wouldn't that mean that there'll be less of the better grade chips? Unless they're producing a lot of the higher grade chips? Which I wouldn't have thought likely this early on.

Almost everybody on the internet is able to achieve a 3.8-4Ghz oc on the 1700 on air. It's not really a big deal and not that difficult either. I just don't understand the $500 1800X sku, it's an abomination and it shouldn't exist.

It shouldn't exist but I do think AMD will be binning otherwise it doesn't make sense.

How long will it take you to import Ryzen 7 1700 with B350 board?
I think everyone should wait till the bios and platform becomes stable, or there would be a lot of warranty claims. I have seem many reviewers running into these issues.

In short, the Windows threaad-schedulur does not line up with the AMD Ryzen architecture.
Back in the days when intel introduced Hyper-threading many similar issues have been adressed. From here onwards it will be a waiting game as we'll have to wait and see how Microsoft will address this matter and see what effect these two factors will have on the slightly dissapointing game performance results. But sure, it is terrific news that Microsoft found an issue and is correcting it, let us hope that Microsoft sorts out the scheduler and cache issues as soon as possible. Maybe the upcoming Patch Tuesday update scheduled for March 14 will bring this coveted patch.

It's not Windows scheduler to blame - AMD

Idk... AMD half answered it (almost like they didn't want to blame Microsoft [emoji14] ), they didn't comment on the inter-CCX latency that is sometimes caused when the scheduler can keep things on one CCX but switches to the other one when it shouldn't and that introduces quite a lot of latency.
