The SAV001-H vaccine has already been tested on monkeys and rats with overwhelming success and no side effects.
The vaccine has been developed for the subtype B of HIV, the strain common in Europe, Australia and the Americas, and will not work on the African and Asian subtypes but might later be "modifiable".

Its dangerous in that it uses Actual Real HIV... thats deactivated. But the HIV is still alive and their is a very small risk of it "adapting" back into pathological (Evil :looking: ) form.

The fact that FDA gave them full clearance for 3 Complete Phases of Human Clinical Trials.... is HUGE.
That means theirs ALOT of confidence behind this.

BTW, Canada was also the country where Penicillin and Recombinant Insulin was invented (prior to that animal insulin was used in diabetics)

Until now, other experimental vaccines either used subunits of the virus or relied on genetically modified non-HIV viruses to carry an HIV-like genetic sequence.

“The thinking had been that it can be dangerous to use HIV itself, even if it’s inactivated. Because if you don’t inactivate all of it, you’ve got a problem,” Alan Bernstein, former executive director of the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise, said in an interview.

Dr. Kang’s team instead is using a genetically modified whole virus that has been made inactive by chemicals and radiations.

The vaccine, SAV001, will now have to undergo three phases of human clinical trials;

  • Phase 1. Beginning in January 2012, this phase will involve 30 HIV-positive people on whom safety will be retested.
  • Phase 2. This phase will examine immune responses in humans and will involve 600 HIV-negative people who are at high risk of contracting the AIDS virus.
  • Phase 3. This phase will determine the efficacy of the vaccine and will involve 6,000 HIV-negative volunteers at high risk of contracting the virus.
Their key competitors are Duke University partnered with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant fund (37.2 million USD)....
Its a race to make $$$$$$$ from 1st one to patent a working cure....
but Duke researchers still in earliest testing phases of their vaccine.

But, as of my knowledge, monkeys suffer the similar, but different strain of the virus; SIV :/

1. Viral markers for vaccine are the same... GP120 (attachment protein)
2. Monkeys can get HIV just not from other monkeys....

its like the transmission of bird flu.... bird flu is bird >>> human transmission... but not human >>> human transmission
So a monkey can still GET human HIV but he'd have to be injected or "sex'd"

lol i would hate to be the monkey injected with human HIV....

lahore dude
well these companies are all for profit... they will never make an effective vaccine... they will make something that will be given to you for years and years so they can milk money from the patient... they are in the life saving bussiness but they are motherfucking capitalist evil...

Karachi.
At the start of this year, Hepatitis C vaccine was invented. (of one of 5 or 6 strains).
At the end of this year, AIDs vaccine has been invented.

Future is surely bright.

Of course it won't work for the population they're trying to get rid of.

Na na na.

The debate, the almost conspiracy theory that AIDS vaccinations and cure has been around for decades has been talked to its death.

Conspiracy theorists say that the vaccinations were not made public because of the most obvious reason.

AND the fact that disease is HUGE business. Medical, scientifically tested and proven cure for aids should have and probably has made someone billions of $$$$!

You mean Nigga Zombie AKA TheBrokenMan (his previous nick?) :p hehe kidding.

__

Truly it also depends on the business involved, and profit margins too.

There was a disease that was very rare, but scientists said that its cure could be made easily, but they did not research into it, because researching would take 20 million euros easily and profit would be less than 1 million.
