[h=1]Chinese Man Shows Off a Real World Hadouken[/h]
Most Street Fighter fans are quite familiar with the Hadouken. The special ability is in the same realm of iconic fighting game moves as Mortal Kombat’s ‘Get over here.’
The real life version of Hadouken isn’t quite as impressive as the blue orb of energy that flies across the screen in Street Fighter, but it’s still pretty cool.
The translation of Hadouken is “wave motion fist.” The idea behind the attack is to send a burst of energy at an opponent by channeling concentration and rapidly punching the air. 23-year old Chen Jia uses this approach for the much more realistic goal of extinguishing a row of candles.
Jia seems to have mastered the ability from what we see in this YouTube video. Two others make attempts before Jia, but they don’t seem to have the same magic.
Some people in the comments section suspect that the ability is a trick, but we didn’t notice any evidence of that.
The skill might not be very useful in a fight to the death, but it’s definitely something I’d like to have up my sleeve for showing off at a party.
