Arey bhai Series S could've had the same FSR 2 4K visuals but at the cost of performance hit.

And that's why Series X is lagging behind the S in terms of performance.

It's an interesting case which could explain the slow adoption of FSR 2 on consoles. The performance cost is not trivial. 😬

Of course, there's no such thing as a free lunch. But this is a good first step in doing convincing 1440p to look indistinguishable from 4K. Rendering native 4K is probably more computationally expensive.

Wah saeen, FSR 2.1 making huge strides on Series S performance. Looks like Scorn not having it was purely a budgetary or time constraint reason.

AS per DF, It improves the IQ considerably but doesn't improve performance. It actually decreases the performance in spots.

So getting inspired from @Chandoo, I did a thing too.

Although i was planning to get an S at first given my budget, i ended up getting a pre-owned Series X which was in immaculate condition.

Played a bit of Plague tale, BF 2042 and Psychonauts 2 but hot damn Forza Horion 5 looks absolutely AHHHMAZING !!! Plague tale requeim also looks fantastic but the 30 fps is such a let down....

Really loving the X at the moment.

Congratulations.

Now with both a new PS and Xbox, you're all set till 2028 at the earliest lol.

And you'll notice that functionally SX is such a more well engineered machine, less noise, less disc whine/coil whine etc.

And Game Pass content will keep you occupied for a decade at least.
