Now with both a new PS and Xbox, you're all set till 2028 at the earliest lol.

And you'll notice that functionally SX is such a more well engineered machine, less noise, less disc whine/coil whine etc.

And Game Pass content will keep you occupied for a decade at least.

I always thought the quick resume function of Series consoles was just a gimmick but that was until i tried that myself. It is just mind blowing how quickly the game just boots you right into the game where you left it off. Amazing stuff. Just finished Plague tale, High on Life and Halo Infinite !!!!

Quick Resume really shines in games like the last few AC games where the unskipable videos and logos and the loadings can amount to a minute plus.

It is a godsend.

Xbox owners, make sure you're setting your color bit depths correctly (Video > Overscan and Fidelity in settings) to avoid color banding.

8 bit = banding
10 bit = no banding. (use this)
12 bit = don't, this drops chroma subsampling to compensate and has no benefit over 10 bit.

Ray-tracing is a relative rarity on Microsoft's junior current-gen machine, with just a few standout titles making effective uses of RT techniques.

And the games that do use RT are often best enjoyed without it.

The emulation scene for Xbox has taken 2 massive swings over the last week

1. A standalone build of Dolphin is now made and working, much better than the Retroarch core
2. The Xenia emulator (Xbox 360 emulator) now has a WIP build for Xbox consoles. Meaning you will be able to emulate all 360 games that aren't already in the curated BC list officially from MS.

A lot of 'not working' right now, but for a version 0.1 it's got a bunch of games fully working.

RPSS3 needs a proper Direct X 12 frontend to be able to port to console. Xbox won't be able to run openGL or Vulcan.
