i think so bcoz my lineman told me to transfer my LandLine number to different Cabinet bcoz my cabinet underground wiring is obsolete and dont support 4mb or above packages

This is 100% due to bad line. Only way out is to get a line man and get it sorted through "other means."

u can check on PTCL website for coverage but In islamabad F7 is covered with GPON but suppose u dont have GPON in isb still u can opt for VDSL .

If i give you a Google map location can you check weather it's available or not? In Islamabad if course

How much speed can i get with vdsl? I want at least 15mb

VDSL has a theoretical maximum of 100 Mbps. But VDSL card is required in your relevant FTTC cabinet for it to be available in your area. Place your order through 0800 8 0800 and you will get a confirmation within 48 hours.

Sorry for the noob questions but, what's FTTC? I've never been to Pakistan so I'm unfamiliar with a lot of terms

Fiber To The Cabinet. Cabinets are basically cupboard-like structures that serve as gateways to the exchange and shiftovers from the last mile copper infrastructure to fiber cables. Meaning, in most major cities of Pakistan fiber cables are not available to the home of customers. In these scenarios, PTCL extends its fiber infrastructure from the exchange to these cabinets and the rest of the wiring to the customer's home is good ol' copper.

It shouldn't be expensive for an organization the size of PTCL, but since they are imported, and the demand for hi-speed packages isn't as much here, so PTCL has very little stock of them. Secondly, there should be free slots available in the cabinet for it to be installed. Most cabinets are jam-packed so there isn't space available for a VDSL card even if the exchange has it. Finally, PTCL has a secret number going where a particular area should have at least X number of VDSL requests, before a card is deemed feasible.

Since VDSL is a copper-based standard, so the requirement for fiber cable is not necessary but since PTCL's copper infrastructure is so bad, I think PTCL keeps FTTC a minimum requirement for VDSL.

Totally believable (lmao). Seems like Fiberlink needs to grab some quick installation $$$.

I have spoken to them and they said that my area will be covered before Ramzan. As soon as its done they will let me know. They were saying if u want to order now u can. But i said let me know when u r ready to give me the connection. They have coverage till GPO chowk right now if u know where iz that.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
