Zong 500 rupees super card is still the best bang for the buck hybrid package out there. No call setup charges, Better value for money of all-network minutes, sms and MBs compared to all other networks.

Although I do have to agree they overcharge the internet and are balance thieves if you arent on a package. But I only load the 500 rs card every month so am safe.

Depends on a ton of factors, signal quality, signal strength, network load / congestion, networking equipment and much more which I don't know, because Mobilink has sort of always had shitty pings.
This is correct when you talk about wireless or last-mile network. But delays within the core network (like the one within LdN's network in above example) are almost exclusively caused by a combination of un-optimized routing (amateurish) and configuration mismatches (bad planning). Access networks, Metro-networks, and Internet Gateways almost always use different protocols which causes each hop to treat the same packet differently, besides the fact that these networks use both layer 2 (switches) and layer 3 (routers) devices, which makes it impossible for all equipment to maintain MAC/IP/Routing/Switching tables. This often results in packets getting stuck within the same network i.e. they wander from router to router, switch to switch, eating up valuable resources until they get discarded (one of the two main reasons why you get *request timed out*. The other reason is disabling ICMP (pings) since they are low priority packets.

Fun fact: Even though routing is easy to modify, it is difficult to know all the current routes within the router because ISPs discourage the use of that command since it eats up router resources and results in hung routers half the time. (lmao)

Cheers.
Thanks for clearing that up. :)

No problem. Also perhaps I should've added the following to the previous reply.

2 hops may be within the same network and registered by the same company at the same physical address, but could be configured in two entirely different places (i.e. ISB and KHI). Which ofcourse then involves transmission equipment (DWDM systems) and optical transport, which again run on different sets of rules and protocols. Also they may not have an agreement to transit data both ways, i.e. one way communication only.

ISP-A could be sending data to ISP-B directly because they have physical connectivity at a co-location in Karachi. But it's entirely possible that ISP-B uses a router present in Islamabad as its gateway (i.e. router that it uses to get packets out of its network). Hence, it's impossible to get the same pings in both directions. Add in commercial agreements/constraints and you'd find ISP-A sending its packets all the way across the world and back again to ISP-B just because it's cheaper and voila...

Insightful, thanks!

I suppose Mobilink is just being Mobilink, despite the rebranding and all that jazz.

Got this today. Didn't even take 5 whole minutes since thankfully, the franchise was empty and they didn't even charge me anything for the SIM.
I thought it was 200 rs since Zong charged me when I ported to them.

You're lucky the franchise wasn't overloaded.

Also, the operators decide how much customers pay for a new SIM. When I tried to port to Zong last time, it was free (or maybe they had some promotion going on?)

Let's hope Telenor is better for you. Meanwhile, I'm sure hell will freeze before we get 15Mhz.

It was the Scheme 3 Telenor franchise, the one behind Tehzeeb Bakery.

I've been there 3 times before and its usually full, but this time was surprising, not a customer in sight.... I wonder if that means something.

I too hope Telenor has improved since I last used it which was March of this year where there were signal problems (constantly switched back to 3G from 1-2 bars of 4G) and obviously the poor signal coupled with bad SINR meant that loading YouTube videos was almost impossible (but so is the case on Zong), and it kept switching back to their barely usable 3G.

As for Jazz, well the signal drops are quite frequent nowadays, and according to zafarabbasrizvi he faced these issues too for A WHOLE MONTH before they upgraded the network so I guess we can sit back and relax since this isn't happening any time soon.

Just came back from school to see it saying 'Emergency calls only', popped the Telenor SIM in and it connected instantly.

Tests coming soon. :D

Warid doesn't exist anymore. It's Jazz.

Voice tariff: Mobilink isn't cheap.
SMS tariff: Mobilink isn't cheap.
Data tariff: Mobilink is competitive.
Latency: better off with Zong or Telenor.
Speeds: depends on your coverage area.
Coverage: depends.

The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
