Note how I say "Re-watch".

Does Clannad have men, pushing their bodies to the limit and beyond and punching each other with all the force in their bodies? No? Then it's not the manliest anime ever.

Hajime no Ippo is a Manime. (sm1)
CLannad mostly pushes men's emotions to their limits. You're not a man if you haven't seen or cried while watching CLannad. ;)

Hajime no Ippo itself has some moments where pushes men's emotions. One fight in particular made me and countless others pause the video and start throwing random punches in the air.

The fights really stir you up cause you see what everyone goes through to reach that point. So when someone loses or wins you can't help but react accordingly.

Clannad sounds good too, I'd really love to give it a try after I re-watch Hajime no Ippo.

But Clannad can't be compared to Hajime no Ippo, they're both different and stir your emotions differently.

Same with Grave of the Fireflies. I am not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear while watching it. :crying:

Clannad After Story :'(

If you don't cry after watching Clannad, you're not human.

Amazingly enough, I didn't actually cry when I watched GotF though I did after watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. :s

I fell asleep multiple times in the first season of Clannad. Never bothered with After Story and still haven't made up my mind to re-watch them yet :p

you're right but the level of emotions that clannad conveys at that hajime no ippo can't even get close.

as far as the manly anime issue goes. clannad is not more manly than hajime no ippo but clannad is the type of anime that takes your manly-ness and crushes it and waters your eyes

DarkLordMalik: The first season of Clannad does get a little boring. It's a casual anime in the first season, which just tells you the importance of family and family etc. The usual, generic moral-based storyline. After story is where the sadness truly begins :(
