Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind's last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.
Story:
A man-made floating city called the Ark, made up of hundreds of separate floating islands, is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become a refuge for humanity. Crammed with the original Ark founders, their descendants, as well as tens of thousands of refugees, the Ark exists in total isolation from the rest of the world. With 25 years of social unrest, the inhabitants of the Ark have reached their breaking point. It’s up to you to decide the future of the Ark and the human race.
Key Features:

  • Blurring the Lines Between Offline and Online - Advance your character’s development across every gameplay mode: single player, co-op, and multiplayer. Gain experience points that you can spend on customizing and upgrading your skills and abilities, designing an entirely unique look and feel for your character.
  • Groundbreaking Kinesthetics - Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you’re used to, without frustrating, artificial constraints and takes advantage of a new feature: the SMART button. When you press the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen. No need to perfectly time a jump or vault, the game knows what you want to do.
  • Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards - Objectives, communications, mission generation, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your status, your location, your squad-mates, and the status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You’ll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success.
  • Virtual TexturingBrink’s proprietary technology, Virtual Texturing, breaks new ground on current-gen consoles and PCs with an even greater focus on highly detailed characters, realistic environments, lighting, effects, and atmospherics,. This competitive lead on the squad-combat genre helps thrust players into the gritty reality of the Ark's epic secluded arcology.

Okay, so this game seems to be under the radar at the moment. I think it looks very very impressive, could be the multiplayer shooter to beat.

But don't take my word for it!

Joystiq says:

Brink is an evolution: Smart ideas, like persistence across your single- and multiplayer campaigns, coupled with solid console releases (the Quake Wars: Enemy Territory ports weren't handled in-house) and a refined objective mechanic should put Splash Damage in front of its largest audience yet.
Bit-Gamer says:

Brink looks like it’s shaping up to be a slickly fun shooter that, to its credit, also shows an attempt to offer interesting and innovative developments to the tired FPS genre. It’s not problem-free, but we still found ourselves sorry to give up the controller when our time with the game came to an end.
IGN says:

Often on a map you'll find yourself with the option of pursing multiple objectives. The primary one might be to escort a wheeled machine to a certain spot, but in the meantime you can find ways to capture command posts or open side doors or construct barricades, meaning the fight isn't always limited to one specific area. Splash Damage makes travel between all these points of interest faster with its contextual movement system where, by holding a button, your character will rapidly vault and climb while running to maintain speed, which seems especially useful to avoid getting stuck on the wrong side of a ramp's railing or accessing less exposed walkways to move around the map without absorbing too many bullets.

^ First post updated.

People have been raving about Splash Damage. I've heard their last release was Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, which got rave reviews but bombed because it was released very close to Team Fortress 2.

They've pushed the date one week ahead so they don't clash with LA Noire, the game looks amazing, hope it picks up with gamers. I think the multiplayer looks very promising.

And now they are releasing a game which plays very much like Team Fortress 2. Except parkour ofcourse. I am excited nonetheless.

Lack of hype is disturbing.

New video out.

6 more days to go. Might get this on the X360 unless the PS3 crowd shows interest.

Against Team Fortress 2??? Gimme a break, this title don't even stand a chance.
who said anything about it going up against tf2 in the first place?

anyways, i wouldve really liked it if i got my hands on a beta first, but considering the current psn situation that looks unlikely.

If you have watched its trailers and infos in past few months, game is a class-based game with heavily borrowed elements from TF2. Deployable sentries, classes etc. So this game is coming to compete with TF2.

Dude, nobody stands a chance against Valve :p
Still, this one looks pretty good. I've developed a taste for heavily class based MP. Let's see if a good community builds up in Pakistan for the PC version.

I was gonna make a thread for this near release. Good thing someone else took the initiative. Really looking forward to this one.

Info regarding dedicated servers on PC:

What is the Brink Standalone Dedicated Server?
The Brink Standalone Dedicated Server allows anyone to run multiplayer servers for the PC version of Brink. As the server is standalone, it does not require a full version of Brink to be installed and is completely free.

Where will I be able to get the Brink Standalone Dedicated Server?
The Brink Standalone Dedicated Server will be available for download via Steam prior to release. Once the server is available, you can simply browse to the Tools tab in your Steam client and grab it from there.

Will I be able to run several instances of the Brink Standalone Dedicated Server on a single machine?
Yes. The Brink Standalone Dedicated Server comes with several pre-made bat files that automatically define different ports for each instance. It’s also possible for you to set your own, custom ports.

In terms of available game options, how customizable will the Brink Standalone Dedicated Server be?
The Brink Standalone Dedicated Server includes several different game configuration files covering all of the regular game modes, including campaign, stopwatch, objective, and co-op challenges. In addition, there are a variety of server-side commands available that allow you to further customize your server, including team sizes, time limits and overtime, warm-up rules, friendly fire, voice chat, availability of Command Post buffs, rank restrictions, number of bots, and password.

Multiplayer looks super exciting. Buying this day one. Unless reviews turn out to be full of flaws.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
