X-Men: Apocalypse is currently filming, and we recently saw some on-set photos of the young X-Men hanging out at the mall including Jubilee, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, and Cyclops. The shots were pretty far, but now we have some better shots, thanks to fans who were on the set. Check out Lana Condor as Jubilee as she wears the iconic yellow jacket, blue shorts, and pink shirt. [h=1]‘X-Men': Oscar Isaac Says Apocalypse’s Motivation Is ‘Biblical’[/h]

The next X-Men film from 20th Century Fox, X-Men: Apocalypse, is set to shake up the studios’ mutant universe while also following through on the new timeline established in last summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Apocalypse will not only introduce younger versions of X-Men characters Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, and Nightcrawler, but also – according to writer/producer Simon Kinberg“impact the course of the history in the world.”
However, while the upcoming film will be establishing new versions of old characters and impacting the overarching universe, at the center of the movie will be the titular villain, Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac (Ex Machina). In a recent interview, the actor talked about creating the character in a way that feels authentic to his mission as well as the movie.

From The Web

While speaking to Matthew Sardo of the Monkeys Fighting Robots podcast, Isaac said he has filmed some scenes for X-Men: Apocalypse – which began production in April – and has seen the final design for his character’s makeup. Additionally, Isaac spoke about creating the Apocalypse character with Kinberg and director Bryan Singer as well as how he prepared for the role.
Read Isaac’s full quote:
“I’ve been reading the script a lot and trying to come at for me, an interesting angle. Definitely focusing on the fact he is the embodiment of the second coming of the judgments of god and that energy going in. We’re playing with that. What we are trying to do is make his philosophy and what his mission is, one that is both simple but also holds water, that really makes sense throughout the whole movie. I think Simon Kinberg and Bryan Singer, we’ve been able to come up with something very cool.”
In previous interviews, Isaac has discussed Apocalypse’s mission, which will resemble that of the character’s comic book counterpart of culling the weak from the strong – essentially survival of the fittest. It seems, from Isaac’s newest comments, that this mission will be integral to the actor’s portrayal of Apocalypse as well as his character’s arc throughout the upcoming X-Men movie.
Source: Livio Ramondelli

Of course, Apocalypse’s undertaking of eradicating whole groups of people isn’t a new concept to either the X-Men movies or superhero properties on screen. The original X-Men trilogy dealt with Magneto and his followers who believed mutants to be greater than humans, and that theme was carried over into X-Men: First Class. Even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 finale dealt with a similar storyline concerning its Inhumans characters.
That being said, due to Apocalypse’s vast powers – including immortality, telekinesis, and body manipulation – and his servants, which include the Four Horsemen, the villain is seemingly unstoppable. Although, as Isaac has said previously, even Apocalypse will have his limits. Nevertheless, he and his mission will surely prove to a difficult foe for Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and the younger X-Men.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27th, 2016.

[h=1]‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Concept Art Teases ‘All New X-Men’ Costumes[/h]

It didn’t take long for photos to surface online of the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse once production began in Montreal, Quebec in late April. The followup to last year’s successful X-Men: Days of Future Past aims to conclude another trilogy in the X-Men film universe while potentially setting up another. And to do the latter, director Bryan Singer is introducing younger versions of several of the original lead characters alongside a few entirely new ones yet to be seen on the big screen.
Outside of seeing these classic characters on set and in public wearing “plain clothes,” lifted straight from the real-life style and X-Men comics of the late ’80s and early ’90s, the actors have yet to appear in any sort of traditional superhero costume or field outfits. Concept art released by Singer previously did however, reveal the mechanical wings of Angel/Archangel (Ben Hardy), and it’s from new concept art we have a tease of what to expect from the other new mutant heroes.

From The Web

Most of what’s been revealed so far in terms of casting and artwork for 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse has come solely from director Bryan Singer’s social media accounts – the same can be said about the other X-Men film in production right now in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool spinoff, but the following interesting piece of artwork comes from the latest issue of Empire Magazine.

In it we see Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) taking cover as young Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) lets loose and optic blast at Storm (Alexandra Shipp). The ruined setting appears to be from some apocalyptic event or perhaps could be a training exercise within the danger room. There was conflict in the books between Storm and Cyclops over leadership, but at this point in the cinematic universe, these three characters (introduced as pillars in Bryan Singer’s first X-Men movie) are still young and discovering who they are, as per the words of producer and X-Men franchise overseer Simon Kinberg:
“Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is
a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It’s fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they’ll become the most powerful person in the world.”
Take note of Cyclops’ costume and compare to this comic book art (below). Where X-Men: First Class paid tribute to the original X-Men comics costumes and Days of Future Past put future mutants in dark, armored costumes, X-Men: Apocalypse may deliver a large team of X-Men suiting up in something more colorful and recognizable from the books and ’90s animated series. And while it’s not visible in the imagery so far, Empire claims Storm will rock her ’80s mohawk, something the character brought back in the comics a few years ago as well.
Full Cover of All-New X-Men #1 – The Original Five Skip Join The Present Era

Where Storm’s style is inspired from select runs of Marvel Comics and Nightcrawler’s (Kodi Smit-McPhee) first reveal seemingly takes a cue from the X-Men: Evolution animated series, the other lead characters being re-introduced with younger actors may suit up in something similar to the modern “All New X-Men” comic series which began in 2012 as part of Marvel’s NOW! rebranding and relaunching of most of their titles.
In this relaunch of sorts, the original five X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast and Angel) are brought from the past to the present to meet their modern day selves to see what they’ve become. And they end up sticking around. On the surface, this story seems as gimmicky as ever, using time travel to bring back the old school roster, but it’s one that saw the flagship X-Men series go back to doing something a little more traditional, and it let the characters trade in the old yellow and blue jumpsuits (above) for something a little more modern and practical (below).

And yes, like the overall story of their return, the writers perhaps didn’t give the best explanation for the new X-Men comics costumes (it’s magic!) either, but there they are above.
With the Deadpool film allowing Ryan Reynolds to sport the iconic red and black mercenary getup from the comics, without compromise, and X-Men franchise star Hugh Jackman frequently expressing his desire to wear his yellow and black outfit from the comics (which was shown briefly in a special feature on the home video release of The Wolverine), perhaps it’s time to let the X-Men appear as they did at their peak in the ’90s. The Avengers dress up as they do in the books, colors and all, so why can’t the X-Men? Forget the black leather, for real this time, Mr. Singer.

[h=1]Bryan Singer Confirms Caliban For ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’[/h]

Another week goes by, another mutant is namedropped or spotted on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan Singer’s followup to last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently shooting in Montreal and every few days he shares a little something from the production, whether it be a major reveal, a casting announcement or a simple behind-the-scenes photo.
His latest Apocalypse tease is a bit of all of these things, confirming that another important mutant character from Marvel Comics is set to appear in the next X-Men ensemble – one who just so happens to share an important connection to the film’s titular villain.

From The Web

The following photo from Singer’s Instagram account showcases him and the crew of Apocalypse shooting a sequence underground in what he describes as “Caliban’s place of ‘business’.”

For comic readers, what should immediately come to mind are the Morlocks – mutants who live in hiding, forming an underground community. In fact, there’s another Morlock (Gina Carino’s Angel Dust) set to be introduced next year in Deadpool, as well.
The Morlocks first appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, where their leader Callisto (Dania Ramirez) was written to also have the mutant-locator powers of Caliban. Now, presumably in the 1983 setting of X-Men: Apocalypse, the real Caliban will finally be introduced. As for what his “business” is, we can only assume that might have to do with his ability to locate other mutants – something Apocalypse may be after (the X-Men have Charles Xavier’s Cerebro which serves the same function).
Caliban in X-Men: Destiny Video Game

Caliban’s life began as a visibly noticeably mutant for his strange looks and his ability helped Callisto form an underground society for others like them. In the films, it’s possible that he’s done this on his own. More likely though, his appearance means he’ll be recruited by Apocalypse like he was in the comics to become one of his deadly Four Horsemen.
In the books, Caliban wasn’t a very effective field operative for the X-Men’s X-Factor team given his passive superpowers, but he makes a deal with Apocalypse to give him the powers for his personal vendetta against anti-mutant groups who killed other Morlocks. Which, if any, of these story beats from the comics make it into the movie remains to be seen.
The image up top is from Caliban’s temporary resurrection after he died a hero serving for the secret modern X-Force team.

[h=1]‘X-Men: Apocalypse': New Quicksilver Slow-Motion Sequence Teased[/h]

By itself, the X-Men franchisehas launched an extremely lucrative and reliable superhero brand, composed of three different timelines that spawned from the previous sequels, prequels, and solo bouts. That said, it doesn’t take a telepathic mutant to understand why Twentieth Century Fox wants to expand its franchise even further with future films like Deadpool, Gambit, and The New Mutantsas well as merge it with the new, upcoming Fantastic Four continuity to create its own shared universe.

But before any crossovers – or even potential franchise reboots – hit the big screen, Fox will bring its First Class-launchedprequel trilogy to a close with next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse. As with most superhero flicks these days the Interweb has been abound with tease after tease courtesy of social media. Bryan Singer, himself, has been rather generous to fans by sharing various set images, which have teased Caliban’s inclusion, the presence of animal-controlling mutants, and James McAvoy’s shaved head. And today, he brings exciting news pertaining to the breakout star of X-Men: Days of Future Past. From The Web

Taking to Instagram once more, the director posted a photo that not only hints at Quicksilver’s anticipated return, but also the return of a fan-favorite scene from DOFP:

Just another day at the office. #Quicksilver #Xmen #XmenApocalypse
A photo posted by Bryan Singer (@bryanjaysinger) on Jun 10, 2015 at 12:13pm PDT
At first glance, the actors in the photo simply appear to be strung up in wires in front of a green screen; but coupled with Singer’s mention of the lightning fast hero, the scene takes on a whole different meaning, in which the actors could instead be frozen in time – or at least, moving so slowly they look frozen. If that is indeed the case, it would seem Singer is attempting to once again spotlight Quicksilver’s power and catch lightning in a bottle twice.Even before the theatrical release of DOFP, critical consensus pegged Evan Peters’ Quicksilver and his split-second, slow motion rescue of Magneto, Professor Xavier, and Wolverine as the highlight of the film. Slow motion was certainly nothing new or impressive when the movie debuted – if anything, it had become a cliche – yet the breathtaking prison break scene utilized it in a fun and exciting way that showcased the speedster’s ability and its hilarious advantages, while veering from the melodrama usually attached to said special effect.Ultimately, the moment succeeded because it was unexpected and refreshing. With Singer teasing another scene like it, there’s potential for the original magic and ‘epicness’ to dissipate – if only slightly.Fortunately, the desire to see more of Quicksilver this time around (and potentially in his own spin-off) heavily outweighs any possibility of overusing the character, which would prove difficult considering the packed roster of mutants set to appear. Let’s just hope the film can find time to explore more of his backstory – specifically his familial ties to Magneto – while the heroes are busy contenting with the titular villain. Are you excited for another slow motion scene that highlight’s Quicksilver’s superspeed? Sound off in the comments below.

[h=1]‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Bryan Singer Teases Jean Grey Weapon Training?[/h]

Director Bryan Singer’s return to the X-Men cinematic universe, X-Men: Days of Future Past, was a huge hit for Twentieth Century Fox. Not only did the comic book movie receive rave reviews, earning a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.5 out of 5 stars from us, but it also was a financial success for the studio (a production budget of $200 million that earned more than $748 million worldwide). Given the film’s overwhelmingly positive reception from both fans and critics, it should come as no surprise Singer was eventually confirmed to direct the next movie about the team of mutants, X-Men: Apocalypse.
As the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past’s extended cut (called the”Rogue Cut”) nears, Bryan Singer has been teasing more and more information about his upcoming X-Men film. He’s made casting announcements, offered looks at characters and big scenes, and revealed concept art, but his latest post has fans speculating. In a short video, Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner – who plays the young version of Jean Grey, a powerful telepath in the upcoming movie – is observing the director as he uses a bow and arrow.

Check out the video below:

Found the play back #Xmen #XmenApocalypse
A video posted by Bryan Singer (@bryanjaysinger) on Jun 17, 2015 at 2:18pm PDT
In the text accompanying Singer’s video, the director says he’s “teaching young Jean Grey what [he] learned in summer camp.” This comes as a surprise to many comic fans because Turner’s character isn’t known for using weapons. While Gambit is known for carrying a bo staff and Wolverine regularly pops out his adamantium claws, Jean Grey carries no melee or ranged weapons. From a young age, Professor X, the X-Men’s mentor, has taught her how to control her formidable mental abilities – which include telepathy and telekinesis – and she’s always utilized them in combat. Learning to use a bow and arrow (not unlike Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games) is a new development for the character.
Young Jean Grey learning to use the projectile weapon doesn’t necessarily mean she’s going to have a bow and several arrows equipped whenever the X-Men face a conflict. First, it’s possible that this could just be part of her training. The need to ignore one’s surroundings and focus solely on a target does apply to her needing to cancel out all of the voices she hears and focus on applying her powers to just one area.

Secondly, Professor X’s school for gifted youngsters serves as a home for the kids. Just like a summer camp, archery could simply be one of the activities available to the students. These may be powerful students learning to master their surreal abilities, but they can also have the time for hobbies. For example, Colossus, the X-Men’s super-strong and durable hero, is also an artist.
Whether it’s using a bow and arrow to help her learn how to concentrate her abilities or simply using the weapon because she thinks it’s fun, one thing is clear: it’s probably going to take much more than an arrow to take down the movie’s big bad, Apocalypse (played by Ex Machina’s Oscar Isaac).
The villain, who is also known as En Sabah Nur, is one of the X-Men’s most powerful foes and it has been confirmed the cinematic version can at least change the molecules in his body, which means it’s probable the enemy will be able to alter his size, strength, and durability. Unless he has a very specific weak point that can be taken advantage of, it’s probably going to take some serious power to defeat this fiend.
Fox’s Deadpool opens February 12, 2016, followed by X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, and then Gambit on October 7, 2016.

[h=1]Hugh Jackman Confirmed for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Wolverine Appearance?[/h]

Bryan Singer is a man who likes to keep a pretty tight guard over his films while they’re in production – including upcoming sequel X-Men: Apocalypse. That’s not to say that the director is averse to occasionally having the curtain pulled back a little, but he prefers to pull it back himself. Aside from a few low resolution candid pictures of Professor Xavier’s new cast of young mutants, virtually all of the set photos so far have come from Singer himself.
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has always been one of the centerpieces of the X-Men cinematic universe, so much so that he’s the only mutant so far to appear in his own standalone movies (though it won’t stay that way for much longer). The actor’s cameo in X-Men: First Class was a fun surprise for fans, but Singer denied that Jackman would be in the movie even after he was spotted leaving the set. Jackman himself has been acting coy about whether or not he’ll appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, but it looks like someone may have given the game away.

few weeks ago, leather goods store KikaNY posted designs for a duffle backpack on Instagram with an excited caption stating, “We were just asked to make a special duffle backpack for Hugh Jackman who is filming the new X MEN movie in Montreal.” At the time the post went by unnoticed, but it was picked up today by ComicBook.com. KikaNY has since confirmed to Screen Rant that the backpack is for Jackman’s personal use, rather than being a prop for X-Men: Apocalypse, and that the information about Jackman filming the movie came from the producer of an on-site photo shoot. Check out the original post below.

It makes sense that a popular character like Wolverine, who has appeared in every single one of the X-Men movies so far, would have at least a small role in X-Men: Apocalypse. The fact that he was asked to keep it secret suggests that it will only be a cameo, similar to his brief scene in X-Men: First Class. As always it’s important to note that just because an actor has filmed a scene, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the scene will end up in the movie (at least, not in the theatrical cut). This shouldn’t be taken as 100% confirmation of Wolverine’s presence in X-Men: Apocalypse, but it certainly adds evidence to the already strong likelihood of him making a cameo appearance. To be honest, we just want to see as much of him as possible before Jackman retires from the role.Fantastic Four opens on August 7, 2015; Deadpool on February 12, 2016; X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016; Gambit on October 7, 2016; Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3, 2017; Fantastic Four 2 on June 9, 2017; and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018.Source: KikaNY (via ComicBook.com)

Bryan Singer Says ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Is ‘True Birth of The X-Men’

20th Century Fox is rebooting one of their Marvel franchises with this August’s Fantastic Four, but 2016 will see the studio expanding their X-Men universe in a big way, with Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse and solo character releases Deadpool and Gambit.

With Matthew Vaughn’s 2011 X-Men: First Class having already partially rebooted the franchise, Singer’s critical and commercial success X-Men: Days of Future Past linked First Class to the universe established by the original X-Men films and essentially reset the timeline.

Plot details on Apocalypse are still under wraps but Singer’s followup is expected to pick up where DoFP left off.

Apocalypse has a mix of returning mutants such as Professor X (James MacAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbeder), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence); the big-screen debuts of favorites from the comics like the title character himself (played by Oscar Isaac) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and younger versions of core X-Men characters Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Nightcrawler (Kodi-Smit McPhee). This dynamic sets up Apocalypse to finalize the reboot aspects of Days of Future Past.
Now, director Bryan Singer has confirmed this to EW, who stated the following:

This is kind of a conclusion of six ‘X-Men’ films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters.
Singer also stated that X-Men: Apocalypse essentially restarts the franchise from ground zero, saying:

This is the true birth of the X-Men. This is how it happens.

Singer has regularly released Apocalypse teases, from anticipated scenes to sneak peeks to concept art, but now he has confirmed that the ‘younger, newer characters’ are likely to remain the faces of the franchise going forward.

Days of Future Past managed to wipe the X-Men slate clean – at least when it comes to the first three films, which included two well-received entries and one (X-Men: The Last Stand) which remains derided by fans.

Judging by Singer’s remarks, Apocalypse will have to accomplish a great deal during its running time: providing a satisfying quasi-conclusion to six X-Men films while offering a worthwhile franchise adventure and ending up in a strong position from which to restart the X-Men series.

Days of Future Past was strong enough on the narrative front to get fans excited all over again, and while expectations for Apocalypse – and the extended X-Universe as a whole – are high, the good will DoFP helped earn back will allows fans to give Singer the benefit of the doubt… for now.

Fantastic Four opens on August 7, 2015;

Deadpool on February 12, 2016;

X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016;

Gambit on October 7, 2016;

Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3, 2017;

Fantastic Four 2 on June 9, 2017;

and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Bryan Singer Teases Destruction On Set

Next year, icons will face off in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Avengers will turn on each other in Captain America: Civil War, and Ryan Reynolds may finally redeem the merc with the mouth in Deadpool. Clearly, 2016 is going up to be a big year for superhero films – potentially apocalyptic. And amidst the chaotic hype and unending set leaks, Bryan Singer refuses to let fans forget about X-Men: Apocalypse, regularly teasing scenes, new (recast) characters, and concept art from the film on his social media accounts.

The director is also set to bring the latest X-Men installment – and potentially the conclusion to the established mutant universe – to Hall H this Saturday at Comic-Con. What he’ll debut is anyone’s guess, but attendees can definitely expect a sneak peak of the film’s footage (a trailer, maybe?), hopefully providing our first look at the titular villain and the destruction he plans to unleash.

If you can’t make it to Comic-Con – or you simply can’t wait for 20th Century Fox’s SDCC panel – Singer has (once again) taken to Instagram to tease some of this destruction prior to Saturday. The latest post comes in the form of a set video, in which the director provides a 360 degree panoramic view of a busy and explosive scene.

While the video does not reveal any mutants or mutant powers in action, it does seem to show the after-effects of a battle or explosion – or an explosive battle. Complete with green screens, a rather large helicopter, and plenty of crew members, Singer could be teasing one of the very big set pieces from Apocalypse.

Though the question remains, what has been reduced to rubble and flaming debris as glimpsed in the beginning of the tease? Our best guess would be the X-Mansion, which has been destroyed (and rebuilt) many times in the comics and is due for its regular assault and/or detonation.

Leveling the mansion would make sense symbolically, considering the X-Men franchise may reboot entirely following the cataclysmic events of Apocalypse. And it would also make sense in terms of comic lore. During the crossover storyline, “Age of Apocalypse,” Magneto uses the ruins of the partially destroyed mansion as a headquarters for the X-Men to regroup against the villain.

As such, all the signs seem to point toward Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters bearing the brunt of Apocalypse’s, well, apocalypse – or at least a portion of it. And destroyed mansion or not, the video certainly indicates that the film is trying to be even more epic than Days of Future Past. But until we see anything further at Comic-Con, that remains to be seen.

Fantastic Four opens August 7th, 2015,

Deadpool on February 12th, 2016,

X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27th, 2016,

Gambit on October 7th, 2016,

and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13th, 2018.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Four Horsemen Identities Revealed

It’s the biggest day of Comic-Con 2015, with big trailer reveals from Warner Bros. and Legendary, and the final movie studio to take the stage in Hall H is Twentieth Century Fox.

On show today were teases from upcoming X-Men movie universe installments Deadpool and Fantastic Four, but the big finisher was X-Men: Apocalypse. The massive cast – including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscaar Isaac and Jennifer Lawrence – were there to present the very first teaser trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, which revealed which mutants will be by Apocalypse’s side as his Four Horsemen.

In the comics, the Four Horsemen are mutants who have been brainwashed and manipulated by Apocalypse in order to serve as his own personal guard, taking up the titles of Death, War, Pestilence and Famine. We’ve known for some time that Angel/Archangel (Ben Hardy) will be one of the Horsemen – presumably death – and now the other three have been confirmed: Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Magneto (Fassbender).

According to Isaac, Apocalypse’s main ability is the power of persuasion, which he uses to entice these aforementioned mutants into becoming his allies. Hardy also boasted about having “really badass wings,” which we’ve already seen in concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse. During the panel Hardy’s character was referred to as Angel, but it’s possible that he’s transformed into Archangel after being recruited by Apocalypse, based on the mechanical wings that he’s sporting in the concept art.

Of the characters that have been confirmed as the Four Horsemen, Angel has most traditionally been part of the lineup, while Psylocke has also served under the mantle of Death. Shipp explained Storm is persuaded to Apocalypse’s side because she’s always been searching for a god, and she believes that he might be it. Storm is probably the biggest surprise, since she’s only a teenager in X-Men: Apocalypse and the set photos so far have shown her with Jean Grey and the rest of the young X-Men.

Can someone tell me what exactly is that the four horseman do ?

In the comics, the Four Horsemen are mutants who have been brainwashed and manipulated by Apocalypse in order to serve as his own personal guard, taking up the titles of Death, War, Pestilence and Famine. We’ve known for some time that Angel/Archangel (Ben Hardy) will be one of the Horsemen – presumably death – and now the other three have been confirmed: Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Magneto (Fassbender

taken from the above article if you would had just red a little :)

SDCC 2015: ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Teaser Trailer Description

The X-Men may still be fresh in your memory given that it was only last summer when Days of Future Past opened in theaters to set box office records for the long-running superhero movie franchise while also winning over fans and critics. That, Deadpool stealing our hearts with each new piece of marketing material, and the fact that DOFP is getting a special edition release next week, but more on that later.

The studio behind the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies, Twentieth Century Fox, was so confident in the plans and ideas of Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer that they had announced a title and release date for a fast-tracked sequel for two years later, before X-Men: Days of Future Past even released in theaters. The next film is titled X-Men: Apocalypse, and Singer and company promised to show up at San Diego Comic-Con today to bring something special to show fans. And that they did.

Timed very well with the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut – available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD July 14, 2015 – which screened during the convention, is this first marketing push for Apocalypse. What we got in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center yesterday evening (based on just five weeks of shooting in Montreal) is what we expect to be the first teaser trailer released later this year. It offers at brief glimpse at most of the characters in the film, including dialogue and look at the new big bad villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) who was revealed earlier this weekend in posters handed out at the convention. The entire cast of X-Men: Apocalypse was on stage for this.

The footage begins with young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) having nightmares, visions of an apocalyptic future as Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) calms her down, reminding her that it’s just a dream. But it’s not.

We hear Apocalypse speak for the first time, reflecting on his long and storied, god-like history: “I’ve been called any things over many lifetimes, Ra, Krishna, Yahweh…”

Then we see Moira Mactaggart (Rose Byrne) who returns from X-Men: First Class speaking to Xavier: “Ever since the world found out about mutants there have been secret societies, cults, who see them as some kind of second coming or sign of god.” She’s been “tracking” the first of them (Apocalypse) and says “They believe that tens of thousands of years ago an ancient being was born. The world’s first…” Xavier interrupts and completes the sentence: “Mutant.”

Sizzle-reel style shots throughout the teaser of familiar characters including blue and non-blue Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Havok (Lucas Till) in the X-base, new Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) in costume, and young Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) featuring the same lines and design as the X-Men 2 version played by Alan Cumming.

Apocalypse voiceover continues throughout the teaser, and the rest of it goes like this:

“I was there to spark and fan the flame of man’s awakening. To spin the wheel of civilization…”

We see Magneto with old soldiers in the forest.

“You are all my children and you are lost, because you follow blind leaders…”

We see Apocalypse and Mohawk-rocking Storm enter what looks to be the underground lair of the Morlocks where a ragged Magneto (Michael Fassbender) stands with other mutants. Magneto turns and looks at Apocalypse and retorts “Who the f**k are you?” Apocalypse is there to recruit Magneto as one of his four horsemen and says “Come and see.”
This is where we get our first look at Apocalypse’s costume. It’s extremely outlandish and his face is blue with a patterned design. There are prosthetics on his scalp and around his shoulders. The arms show detailed patterns and overall the design looks more alien than mutant. It’s very strange how small Apocalypse appears relative to other characters since he’s massive (and can change size) in Marvel Comics. We expect that may still be the case in other scenes of the complete movie.

“Everything they’ve built will fall and from the ashes of their world we’ll build a better one…”
More sizzle reel shots: Cyclops blasting at a roof, Quicksilver (Evan Peters) running super-speed through the halls of the X-base, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) in her actual comics costume.

We see Apocalypse and the four horsemen (Magneto, Storm, Angel, and Psylocke) in the X-base and Magneto lifts Professor X and his chair in the air and pulls it towards them with his powers. We see Mystique early in the footage, with a rocker leather jacket and later again, seemingly reuniting with Charles and saying “Mutants are being hunted,” but that she’s there to help, there to fight since there’s a storm approaching.

“What do you see?”
Professor X is using Cerebro, speaking about Apocalypse by saying “He can’t control all of us.” We see him potentially horrified and later when we’re back to this shot we see a tear roll down his face. The next shot of him with the Cerebro helmet sees his eyes turn black and he says “I’ve never felt power like this before.”

The final shot sees an X-base door open and James McAvoy finally has bald Xavier in the chair and wearing a nice suit. It then shows a close-up of him as he looks at the camera and fade to black.

Note: there are very few VFX shots since X-Men: Apocalypse is still in principal photography so most if it is focused on Apocalypse’s voice, and then the Mystique/Xavier/Magneto trio and just showing the character designs. Wolverine was not in any of the footage but Hugh Jackman’s banter with Bryan Singer before the panel would make it seem he may appear, especially given Singer’s words about acknowledging the fact that Wolverine has appeared in every X-Men movie to date in the 16 years the series has existed.

Also note: Elements of this description could be out of order. It’s just my memory we’re working from, but you get the larger idea. Prepare for Apocalypse was the theme of the teaser and those words were shown during it as well.

Singer describes Apocalypse as the “true birth of the X-Men” while at the same time hinting that the film will heavily feature mass-scale destruction. More importantly, it will serve as a launching point for new stories based on a younger cast playing the original characters from the first X-Men movie – characters who may one day share the screen with the rebooted Fantastic Four.

[h=1]‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Young Stryker Returning, Says Nicholas Hoult[/h]

[SPOILERS for X-Men: Days of Future Past ahead.]
Marvel Studios skipped San Diego Comic-Con 2015, but film adaptations of the organization’s comic book properties nonetheless got their share amount of time in the sun at the event, with reveals for 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool, Fantastic Four, and X-Men: Apocalypse.
All three of Fox’s Marvel titles take place within the same extended cinematic universe (or so we think – that’s the theory right now, anyway). However, following the critical and commercial rejuvenation of the X-Men franchise provided by director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, it is Singer’s follow up Apocalypse which will determine the future of every other X-Men movie.

Most of the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse recently appeared on Conan (watch the whole video above), including James MacAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast). During a discussion of the cast’s preferred past times during the film’s production – hitting each other and firing BB guns at one another – Hoult mentioned that Logan/Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) greatest nemesis will also return, as he named Josh Helman as one of his BB gun victims.
As any casual fan of the X-Men films knows, Stryker is the man responsible for Wolverine’s on-again, off-again amnesia, adamantium-laced skeleton, and general discontent with daily life in general. He was first played by Brian Cox in Bryan Singer’s X2; then by Danny Huston in X-Men Origins: Wolverine;was referenced in X-Men: First Class;and was most recently portrayed by Helman in Days of Future Past.
Given the somewhat head-scratching cliffhanger featured at the end of DoFP, it’s no surprise to hear that the character will return for Apocalypse. All the same, Hoult’s apparent slip of the tongue is the first semi-official word that Helman will reprise the role.

The question now is just how large that role will be. X-Men: Apocalypse has a lot to accomplish during its running time: justify the resurgence of fan goodwill toward the brand in the wake of Days of Future Past; make good on the franchise-resetting promises that film’s plot seemed to be making; and deliver a worthy new introduction to core characters with new actors (Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey). The Stryker mention does align with a long-held rumor: the appearance of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
The next solo Wolverine movie is expected to be the last hurrah for Jackman in his signature role, but this news is a strong indication that the Ol’ Canuckle Head – who was last seen safe and warm in the Xavier School during the “present” time period and hauled up from the bottom of the ocean by Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) masquerading as Stryker in the past – will show up in Apocalypse, and potentially in a more significant capacity than expected.
After all, for a time in the comic books Wolverine ends up as Death, one of Apocalypse’s Four Horseman. There is no evidence of misdirection as to the film’s horsemen… but that doesn’t mean Jackman’s incarnation of Wolverine won’t get caught up n the inevitable confrontation between the ancient mutant and his riders. Expect more details on the matter soon.

Fantastic Four

‘X-Men: Apocalypse': Bryan Singer Talks Young X-Men, Costumes, & More

X-Men 1 & 2 director Bryan Singer made his full return to the X-Men franchise by calling the shots on the 2014 release, X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film marked a triumphant return, earning more at the box office than any other film in the franchise to date and paving the way for an even bigger sequel next year: X-Men Apocalypse.

This is the film that is going to define the landscape of Fox’s Marvel Universe, introducing viewers to new, younger versions of the mutants first seen in the original X-Men movie trilogy. As such, the pressure is on for Singer to deliver on all fronts, from action to drama to an iconic villain. Based on footage shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, X-Men: Apocalypse may be on the right track.

Singer spoke with Yahoo! Movies about Apocalypse, specifically noting the scope of the film. Singer promises that the movie contains real, global stakes that, when coupled with new treatments of mutant powers, make for some epic action sequences.

“[You will see] some images and treatments of X-Men powers you’ve never seen before and some action and some pretty epic scope and some pretty major stakes. Like global stakes.”

X-Men: Apocalypse will feature new versions of established characters, characters first brought to the screen by Singer himself. Focusing on the characters earlier in their respective timelines allows the film to explore the foundation of those characters and their different motivations in the franchise.

“These are very different characters than they were in the films X-Men 1, 2, and 3. They are at times in their lives when they are at the most opposite of what they would become. That’s a thrill to me, to take characters I crafted so many years ago and flip them completely on their side and show how they evolved and began.”

However, the director knows who the real star of X-Men: Apocalypse is (hint: their name is in the title). Singer expands on what Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac) means to the film and how he affects the film’s landscape.

“Apocalypse is a pretty cool character... X-Men is always centered around the fight between mutants and humans. This one is a bit different, it deals with the concept of ancient mutantism, gods and men. It deals with issues that are global. Apocalypse makes no distinction between humans and mutants, only between the weak and the strong. He as a character is what is so ultimately compelling.”

Apocalypse is an immortal mutant, born En Sabah Nur in ancient Egypt. A being of immense power, Apocalypse has traveled the world for thousands of years, convincing humans that he is a god and causing wars and chaos throughout history. One of his defining characteristics is that he recruits (or, rather, he manipulates) a team of mutants to serve as his personal guard, known as the Horsemen of Apocalypse.

It has been confirmed that the Horsemen will play a role in the upcoming film, with their identities revealed as Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). As such, the lines between friends and foe will blur and likely lead to the kind of epic scope that Singer promises for the next X-Men adventure.

Finally, Singer had a few words about the costumes in the X-Men franchise. When asked if we would ever see the traditional colored costumes from X-Men comic books in the films, he didn’t deny the possibility.

“The X-Men are sort of a fighting team, so it was always an attempt at being realistic to have them in fighting uniforms, flight suits, things like that. In ‘X-Men: First Class,’ which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics. I will say that in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ there is a chance -without giving anything away- that you may get closer to seeing what… you are interested in seeing. I know it’s something that I’ve been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way.”

Regardless of whether or not the original uniforms make an appearance, the most important costuming detail has already been confirmed: Storm will rock a mohawk in the upcoming film.

Fantastic Four opens August 7th, 2015,

Deadpool on February 12th, 2016,

X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27th, 2016,

Gambit on October 7th, 2016,

Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3rd, 2017,

Fantastic Four 2 on June 9th, 2017,

and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13th, 2018.

[h=1]Stan Lee Teases His ‘Different’ Cameo In ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’[/h]

Ever since he co-created Spider-Man (recently referred to as “Marvel’s Mickey Mouse”) with Steve Ditko back in the 1960s, Stan Lee has served as one of Marvel Comics’ most recognizable creative forces. He served as the company’s publisher from 1972 to 1996 and, since then, has taken on a producing role in the majority of Marvel films (be they from Marvel Studios and/or 20th Century Fox).
Of course, Lee is probably best known nowadays for having made cameo appearances in more than 20 Marvel film adaptations, as well as various live-action and animated series. Lee recently popped up in Avengers: Age of Ultron and moviegoers should keep their eyes peeled for his cameo in the fast-approaching Ant-Man

Lee, meanwhile, has already started building up anticipation for his role in another Marvel adaptation: director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. According to Business Insider, Lee teased a crowd at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, describing his Apocalypse role was “different than every other one [he’s] done.”
Asked by a fan which of his many cameos was his favorite, Lee ultimately confessed that his upcoming X-Men appearance may top the list. While he was prevented from getting into too much detail by the moderator (and other Marvel employees present), Lee did offer the following to fans present:
“When you go see the next X-Men movie when it comes out and see my fantastic cameo, you will say, ‘I remember he told me about it here. It’s a different cameo in that it has one additional thing in it. And if that doesn’t make you go see X-Men, I’m wasting my time.”

At this point, it’s anyone’s guess exactly how Lee’s Apocalypse cameo distinguishes itself from its many predecessors. After all, thus far his roles have run the gamut from an innocent bystander to clueless librarian to himself. For the most part though, Lee’s cameos have been light-hearted moments or blink-and-you’ll-miss it appearances that do little to affect the actual storyline of the film, with The Incredible Hulk probably the closest exception. Giving him a cameo that somehow impacts the story at hand would be an interesting change of pace.
That being said, Lee hasn’t appeared in an X-Men film since X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006. Of Lee’s comic book creations (he and Jack Kirby co-created the X-Men), that franchise – along with Spider-Man – is perhaps the most successful one on the big screen. Here’s hoping that Singer and the creative team behind X-Men: Apocalypse have come up with something exceptional for Lee to do, especially seeing as the film marks what Singer calls “true birth of the X-Men.” It would be a fitting tribute for one of the team’s creators to play an important role.
