Which Dvd writer should I buy ?

Hi,
At last !After 5 years, I upgraded my PC .Now, I'm thinking of buying a Dvd Writer ?
I just wanted to know which brand is good in comprision with Price -performance ratio etc etc .Sony Dvd writer here is available for about Rs 1500.So, I just wanted to know which Dvd writer Should I buy ?

Well, I use Sony DVD writer at office... it OK, not too fast though but gets the job done. You should check CNET. for the comparisons.

Yeah ,I haver read few reviews of different writers .It will be much better, If somebody who has actually used the drives for a longer time can give better opinion.

i am also Using Sony and it is working for More then 20Months and only one Problem the CD plate get back when i opened it to place a Cd

Buy the Sony DVD burner or the Asus one, I am using Sony DVD burners from quite a long time..Sony DVD burners are good..

you can also try the HP DVD burner I heard that it's nice too..but since the Sony is in business from a very long time in the optical/laser based instruments I recommend the Sony burner!

dude sony works fine go for it i have been using it for more than an year now..

buy either sony or Asus it doesn't matter..... sony has 18X max speed, asus has 16X max speed, however asus has a neat trick up its sleeve.... it has light scribe and u'll get a CD pouch with 2 lightscribe DVDs at the same price as sony..... SATA DVD writers are also available in the market with decent price..... if u have the money buy a SATA DVD burner
