Salam, i m finding PSU currently.. but quite doesn't understand the 80plus option in PSU ?
i have to run NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 GPU , its specifications sayz 500w ,, also in future will upgrade gpu. inshallah but some of the card say 12v current rating of 22/42A etc.
what is rail in psu ?
what is 12v option with current rating of 22/42 A etc etc. ???
also bigger psu is better or not ?? or 450watts psu with 80plus is powerfull then normal cooler master 500w psu ?
my Processor required 105w. running 4 gb ram with HDD 250 gb also optical
do help me guyz it'll be appreciable

First of all, 80+ referrs to Efficiency of Power supply. how efficiently Power supply deliver the power to various components. CPU and GPU are majors among them. every Brand and product varies in efficiency. Mostly companies mentioned on PSU about 80+ Certified is sometimes accurate and sometime depending on PSU build below accuracy. Lower Quality build PSU does not perform or deliver power at 80% efficiency, infact lower, 60-70% depending on build. Corsair brand n XV/TX/AX series are Excellent Series for PSU and best example of Quality BUILD. similarly there are many others too. Seasonic, Be Quiet etc.

80+ Bronze/GOLD performs much superior to simple 80+ certified. Bronze and GOLD Suggest the level of efficiency specific Build can deliver after 80% efficiency. GOLD rated PSU can deliver upto 90% effficiency of power, lets say, 800W psu with stated power draw of 780w and stated Efficiency of 80% at GOLD rated that suggest, it can deliver upto 90-93% power to all components.......... 93% chance that it can deliver 780W efficienctly at full. which is outstanding for any PSU. But this is for PSU having Excellent Build Quality.

Your 760 required 500w PSU with your System power. Means with i5 + 760 you must have 500W PSU ( a Good Quality PSU) having 42 Amperes on 12v Rail. which means 12x42= 504w for whole rig. GTX 760 takes upto 170w or 200w at load combining other components it will become around 350w-400w max. a good 500W psu with 80% efficiency will deliver power accurately and without any distortion. while lower build 500w psu will struggle to deliver even 400W power.

normal Cooler master PSUs are bad quality, some series are better and optimal in performance like Silent Pro series.

your current RIG will not take more than 400W Power. try to find 600W PSU of a good brand and a good series. bronze performs better than smple 80PLUs.

I have a CM eXtreme (no 80+) and I run a 970 + i3 2100 on it. Even under extreme loads the games run perfectly. I bought it used, and have been using it for more than 3 years now. So the people who say that CM PSUs aren't good, well lets just say that I have a different opinion about it than them.

DraunXer extreme series is low end series, actually, i wouldn't recommend you this especially for long term purpose. we have better options than this in PG market and outside as well. you should try to find corsair VS 550W or xigmatek 600w or any similar i am sure you will find it easily in PG.
Shary Bhallu TC ofcourse you have your experience and opinion. some of the units performs good while others lead down. it is also luck of the draw. i remember i used CM 460W and is one of the great budgeted Build PSU from cooler master many years back.

600W. PSU has many rails. Some are 12V, 3.3V, 5V etc. All voltage levels have different applications inside the computer.

As far as PSU's are concerned, google "PSU Tier List V 2.0"you will get depressed. Why am i posting this??because if you want to invest more than 20 thousand on a gpu, you MUST NOT risk on psu and burn the whole thing up.I have ordered an ASUS GTX 970 strix edition.i had many option such as Thernmaltake 730se which was just 7k and crossair CS 750 which was 11k. but i am opting for RM 750 which is 14.8k in price.Because just for another 7000 i am not risking my 45000. Kisi se qarz le lena bhai, NEVER compromise on these things!! we in pakistan have severe electricity jolts, spikes and low qaulity electricity supply due to those wires outside.

760 dont require any high end PSU, just a mid range with quality build would done its work. but yeah for long term future you need to get a NEW PSU, or one in warranty or very less used. Corsair brand is great and AX series is top quality build out there in term availablity but dont consider CX and VS series build, they are real crap these days. . thermaltake smart PSU, the above guy mentioned, is also good in performance and build.

also focus on Single rail +12v PSU, they are best in delivering efficient Power to components. more rails more problems
