Used Moto X from Star City Mall?

I'm thinking of buying a used Moto X from Star City Mall, for around Rs. 19000. Are the used carrier-unlocked phones reliable? Has anybody got any experience of them? Will I be able to get OTA updates in that phone, since it's carrier-unlocked?

They are absolutely fine, but it does depend on the retailer you are getting it from. They work fine, are very good value for money. And for verizon, you do get OTA updates, don't know about others.

Stay away from anything from Star City Mall !. They are all opened up phones , they use 4-5 defective phones to make one out of them

Quite a few people from my office have faced issues , especially in Moto based phones ! . Save your money and buy something else

Isnt he short in cash and going for shop repaired phone as ppl reported so moto g is better choice in his range

yeah but moto x are available in his range i-e 19k
cellbuzz selling from same price, my friend and another guy above bought from him

IIRC the battery although *fixed* can be replaced but its more of a hassle than other phones hence the *fixed* part

Don't buy used phones from any shop. I went to buy a phone from a reputed shop and there i checked around 5 phones one by one and all were defective (thank God that i found the flaws on the spot), finally i realized that why these phones costs lower. The only good thing about that shop is that the shopkeeper was accepting the flaws that i found in those phones.

Phone 1 : They gave me different model which completely resembles with the one which i was looking for but when i checked the configuration from about menu i found that it was a prior model of one that i was looking for, one shopkeeper was insisting to take me that cell but the other one gave me the correct model.
Phone 2 : That model steel was bend at power button side , which the shopkeeper fixed by pressing it hard and handed over to me. I checked its sound, brightness, touch , recording sound, wifi and than i ask the shopkeeper to put sim in the phone to check its gsm. I found that the mic was not working in that cell phone during call. hence i handed over it to shopkeeper and he tested it and gave me another peice.
Phone 3: That piece was opened from one side and looked like it was repaired. I return it to shopkeeper and he was embarrassed after seeing it.
Phone 4: Now the shopkeeper gave me phone after a quick checking. I first tested its sim voice call than further proceed checking other items. I was satisfied with it. I ask the shop keeper to let me check its voice using hands free. He asked me to wait as the hands free was not available, in the mean time i found that when i open an application having white background , it shows the trace of last opened screen very lightly. I ask the shopkeeper that either it was a feature or the phone has some problem. He checked it and agreed that it a sort of problem but you can use it. I said thank you, i will go for a new phone.

RingMe (Cellbuzz) the PakGamers Premium E-Mall seller has some nice clean sets. I personally bought them and they are working flawlessly
