[UNBOXING] Samsung Galaxy S8+ - To Infinity (Display) & Beyond

And finally here it is, the phone I have been waiting for.

I moved away from Samsung after Galaxy S4, same bland design, same bland UI, offering nothing much special.

Moved on to Sony Xperia Z2, which was (and still is) an amazing phone. But after moving to Sony Xperia Z5 Premium from Z2, it didn't feel that much of an upgrade, same design, bigger screen size, offered nothing much solid.

Hence after the unveiling of Galaxy S8/S8+, and the new design, the beautiful screen and I know it was going to be fast and will have a better suited camera (believe me, my dad's S7 Edge's camera puts my Xperia Z5 Premium's 23mp to shame)

Yeah many wireless chargers are compatible Qi or something.

As far as the protectors go, I read they are full adhesive. Will be applying one in a while myself to confirm.

I hate these Assistant things, hated Siri, I hate Google Assistant, and because Bixby is just a crappy knock-off, I hate that too.

I find it odd to talk to my phone.

I remapped the Bixby button to the camera app.

Edit: I believe Samsung said the voice feature isn't available yet and it'll be activated in a future update.

I hate these Assistant things, hated Siri, I hate Google Assistant, and because Bixby is just a crappy knock-off, I hate that too.

I find it odd to talk to my phone.

I remapped the Bixby button to the camera app.

I see.

My question was that I couldn't get it to listen, can only launch bixby and see cards manually.

I guess the talking/listening functionality still hasn't been released for English.

It has for English (US) I think.

I set my phone to English (UK) and as far as I know, the one time I did accidentally launch Bixby, there was no mention of voice activated features.

Q3 2017 is the planned date for Bixby to become available almost everywhere.

Surprisingly but happily nope. Its Dual Sim but doesn't have any branding/logo at the back indicating such and srriously with the DUOS logo it looks like a chinese type phone lol, not a premium look

Thanx for info. I saw few Unboxings in which it had. s8 Sm-g950fd and s8+ Sm-g955fd international versions luckily dont have duos written on it

Depends on region.


My friend had a Dual SIM S7 edge from KSA but it had no DUOS branding.
My first S7 edge was a UAE import and that had DUOS branding, whereas my second S7 edge was the local Pakistani model with accidental warranty and that did not have DUOS branding.

My S8+ is G955FD and it does have the DUOS branding since I got it from the UAE. I kinda wish I got the Orchid Gray now since the branding is less visible on that.
