[Unboxing] Samsung Galaxy S8+ Midnight Black

Got a phone call today from Samsung store (Fortress Square, Lahore) and the guy on phone asked me to come and pick my pre-ordered Galaxy S8+. Luckily, it was lunch time so rushed straight to the store and saw around 10-15 boxes placed on a table (was relieved to find out that it wasn't a prank because the call was made from a cellphone number).

Anyways, after a few key presses on the keyboard, the sales guy handed over me my phone.

Phone is very beautiful and has a very premium feeling in hand. Screen is gigantic but phone itself doesn't feel that big (may be because I was used to handling iPhone 7 Plus before). I went for midnight black color because for the first time I could get a phone from Samsung which was all black (including the sides). You can't tell where the screen starts from and where it ends. Lovely design!

It comes with AKG earphones, as you all know. However, I didn't like the sound of it much. I am not an audiophile by any means but whatever my ears heard wasn't impressive. I mostly listen music through my Sony MDR 1A. May be they both have different kind of sounds that's why I found AKG not-so-impressive. Or may be I will start liking it the more I will listen through it. But initial impression isn't really impressive.

Luckily:
1) it doesn't have DUOS branding on the back,
2) it doesn't suffer from red tint/hue/whatever,
3) it hasn't rebooted yet,
4) pics aren't really of great quality so sorry about that,

Huge congratulations man, glad you got it after the long wait.

Even happier to hear you're not suffering from any of the S8+ issues happening to other people, and yes just like KSA, the models sold in Pakistan do not have DUOS branding regardless of still being Dual SIM.

[MENTION=58187]samydroid[/MENTION] congratulations buddy its a nice phone nonetheless the only thing I don't like about its design is the placement of fingerprint scanner wish they had made a circular one and put it in the middle of the back something like google pixel but other than that the display is the star of the show where it truly is a matter of designing the phone around the display I doubt we will see many phones this year down the line that are going to beat or match S8 aesthetically this year

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I'm glad to find out that set didn't have any issues at all.

Also, I think, Samsung actually has complied with pre-ordering system norms lol. The phone hasn't officially launched yet in Pakistan but they have delivered to those who pre-ordered. Even at store there was no banner/flex etc. promoting the S8. Just a few boxes and people who pre-ordered. In the end, the only bad part, I guess, was the delay in shipment and nothing else.

As for fingerprint scanner position then I believe I'm the only person on the internet who doesn't have any complaint about fingerprint scanner position lol. The place is definitely not ideal but I didn't find it as bad as I read about it on internet. But then everyone is different.

And you are absolutely right about design and display. Both are gorgeous!
