[UNBOXING] CoolerMaster Haf XB ++ Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet
Bare with me this is my first unboxing and I did this at around 2am so pictures might not be amazing.
The BOX, you might be wondering Whats in the box, whats in the boaaaaaax.
PICTURE 1
Spoiler alert its a casing (not a severed head). Packaging is of standard Polystyrene and not foam type which I like.
PICTURE 2
There it is bigger than I expected it to be. But love the industrial look picture do not do justice. All Metal except for the front frame, though the mesh is of metal. It has mesh everywhere left, right, front, back and bottom, very airy.
PICTURE 3
The back has space for 1 x 120mm fan at the top left and 2 x 80mm fans at the bottom right. The PSU has a protruding shell which is attached with thumb screws, in fact alot of the components are attached with thumb screws which is great, it makes it easy to open and close. There is enough space to put a 120mm radiator on the inside as well.
PICTURE 4
The front has two 3.5" drive bays bottom right all assembly is tool less and plastic here, with another box. On the left bottom we have two 5.25" bays for optical and shit. On the top we have two 120mm fans stock. You can replace them with 140mm fans as well and you can put a 120mm dual radiator on the front inside for a pull push configuration.
PICTURE 5
Another box, this time it has mounting brackets for 2.5" drives, screws and useless cable ties. Yes completely useless cable ties they were made of extremely low quality broke every time I tighten them, so I ended up using my own. One thing to note is that the case has loads of cable management cutouts.
PICTURE 5
Another Front panel picture it has two USD 3.0 ports, HD audio, Power button with power indicator, reset button and HDD activity LED.
PICTURE 6
Left Side without the panel, as you can see cable management cutouts all over the casing. Bottom left 2.5" drive cage holds up 4 2.5" drives plus 2 in the front hot swappable bay so in total 6. On the bottom right you have your tool-less 5.25" drive bay for optical and other stuff, a simple slider locks the drive in place.
PICTURE 7
Corsair AP120 fans Quiet series, and quiet they are. They come in packs of two.
PICTURE 8
The White thing on the left of the box is my box opener. Yes I used an AC remote for opening the fan box, it was around 2am I needed something to open the box and this happened to be insight, my brain was running on fumes. I probably would have used my Pen** to open it if the remote wasn't there .
PICTURE 9
PICTURE 10
So it comes with the rings to match the color scheme of your RIG mine was Red. It comes with a manual and a bag of screws and cable extension. The rings can be used as cheap jewelery bit****love Jewelry
PICTURE 11
My Old system CoolerMaster Elite 311, up for sale if anyone is interested with a 420W PSU.
PICTURE 12
Internals of my previous system was getting too crowded and those cables yuck, hate them.
PICTURE 13
All the components out, didn't there were so many things in there.
PICTURE 14
Top view of almost the final build, did some more cable management in the morning after. But even before that it looks clean and with good air flow.
PICTURE 15
The best part of buying any thing new peeling that sticker off.
PICTURE 16
TLDR:
The CoolerMaster Haf XB is a very solid build casing with dimensions 442Wx330Hx424H and weighing in at ~8kg, and it has very good cable management with various cooling options for radiators and even reservoirs.
Corsair AF120 are truly quite, with excellent air flow.
The main reason why I switched the casing was because I wanted better airflow for lower temps, and it truly did lower the temps by almost 20C yes 20C. My GPU with full load usually peaked at 72C now it is 58C, while CPU at full load peaked at 61C now its around 39-42C.
Thank you for reading/watching.
