Ultimate Marvel v.s. Capcom 3 Discussion Thread

I so wanted to post this when I was watching this live, but Pakgamers was down. A japanese player beat the gods of Marvel (Combofiend, Yipes, PR Rog, Justin Wong, Flocker) to win the whole team, and best part is he did it with a low tier team - Joe/Frank/Rocket Raccoon. That's why I love this game, since technology beats tiers.

Here's the match against F. Champ with the brilliant anti-phoenix tech.

Then he faced Combofiend for qualifications to Top 8.

Also fought Flocker

Yipes in Winner's finals

PR Rog in Grand finals

Well 20-30 sets i am sure the usa giants will be able to figure out his team. Saw a competely different side of joe with the Racoon Assits so i take my words back synergy does matter in umvc.Nuff said that Xfactor Roll into Level 3 with Frank to Dark Phoniex was just genius . Oh i would hate that log trap anyday a free wall bounce into a big ass joe combo.

Glad everyone was already talking about it, I was about to post why no one was commenting on the awesomeness that was Final Round. Kusoro was just on fire the entire tourney, but that Filipino Champ set made my day. In this case, it was the tech...in all other cases, it was match-up knowledge. I loved the part that he actually twittered that he was going to put the mega man head on phoenix the day BEFORE the tourney

On his day, even the best of players would fall to his bag of tricks. After 30 sets, the tricks have gone out the window and it's pretty much who is the better player. Reminds me of the Seth(Poongko) vs Yun(Daigo) matches. We know who the better player is, but it doesn't matter because fewer people will remember what happened after EVO. Same thing with Viscant, Jwong and Fiend might be better...but they didn't win EVO

Yea it was indeed cheap and i think rather then adapting which i think Pr Balrog and Yipes did superbly , everyone was getting pissed at him . Quite a animated character i must say , so how is the scene on umvc , are you still taking a break .

He best Justin Wong 10-8 in a first to 10.

Well if the American players stop dickriding Wesker and Spencer maybe they can learn about the rest of the cast.
Kusoru doesn't even play the game seriously or for pride like the american scene, he plays for fun.

Amir: I'm on hiatus, catching up on all the single player games I've missed out on. I still follow the tourneys, because the game is really fun to watch. Likewise, always up for matches and meet-ups just not planning on playing fighting games for a bit. I think I've gotten as good as I'm going to get in this game without devoting a lot more time to it. For now, that time is better spent elsewhere

Sephi: Didn't know about the jwong set, was it streamed/recorded? I agree about Kusoro just being flat out better though, he knew the match-ups for all his opponents quite well. This game is going to be really fun to watch (if not play) for the next year or so!

Good games with sephi . It was amazing to play a game with sound in synch with its moves after a long time. UMVC made me think how annoying that freaking sound glitch is in sfxt. And my hunch was right the dubai-pak connection is not what it used to be.

Oh no need to be torn up about it. You can't select a team like this and save it. So yes, with some very good timing you can SEE all of the DLC costumes, it's not exactly practical to use them though. I know because I tried it

Deminion played a pretty lame joe with his morigon as i recall. Was referring to the joe raccon setups .
