|| Troubleshooting Network Performance Issues || [Read FIRST POST]

This thread is for people having latency (high ping)/lag issues on the gaming servers they play on or if they're suffering from high packet-loss. Please don't create multiple threads for the same issue.

###########################################################################################################################

1. Get the IP or hostname of the server you're experiencing issues with.
e.g Europe West DOTA2 server IP is 146.66.152.1

2. Download this software, WinMTR* => https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_72NsqOGMrXaXFKdUYxZUxpQXM&authuser=0

Go to the folder where the file was downloaded and extract the archive (it doesn't need any installation).

3. After extracting the archive, run WinMTR

4. After opening WinMTR, enter the IP / hostname of the server and click "Start"

leave it running for ~5-10 minutes

5. Click "Stop" after ~5-10 minutes
(i) Take a screenshot and post or
(ii) Click on "Export TEXT" and save the file

After saving the file, open and copy the contents of the file and post under

I mostly get ip from 39.xx pool which has high ping generally specially on Singapore, rarely ip from get 182.xx pool which also have issues but still better then 39.xx pool

this what i get on 182.xx pool but on 39.xx pool its 350+ms on every server on Singapore

Some routes can be fixed and some can't, its not a one way fix most of the times since routes are dynamic. DOTA2 Singapore pings were reduced because of collaboration between Valve and PTCL both.

Not possible, IPs are assigned region/exchange wise. You can try your luck with static IP.

before i used to get 182.x.x ip but now always get 39.x.x

Problem is originating from hop # 3 i.e. your ISP. Message twitter.com/PTCLCares with a screenshot of WinMTR, your internet IP and time.

alright will do, also i started playing dota like 6 months ago too so much better ping and just more fun, but i still have more friends to play with on league

Well, a clear case of a connection going out of Pakistan through Transworld and coming back in through PTCL. You can try your luck explaining this to Worldcall and asking them to peer locally with PTCL for this server 182.176.65.10. Also, email or tweet to www.twitter.com/PTCLCares and show him this traceroute and ask if a fix can be made from PTCL's side.

pings on dota 2 luxembourg servers are fine though, only problem is with German and Singapore servers

Assalamo Alaikum !!!

This is the result from the Warface EU server (com-eu.wfw.warface.com). The problem is that approximately 9 day back everything was absolutely fine, I used to get a stable 170ms from the said server. But now I only get 320-450ms and that makes it unplayable.

Can anybody take a look at the data exported from WinMTR and tell what's wrong? As I have no idea how to interpret it. Is something wrong on my end which is causing this ridiculously high ping or something related to the route the packets are travelling? I have PTCL broadband 1MB connection.
