Okay so i basically need some information regarding the thai immigration. My brother will be travelling from Philippines to Thailand on 25th January, I will be joining him from here that is islamabad on the 25th in bangkok and will be traveling alone. I am a student, currently in my 2nd year of bachelor studies and i have been hearing from people that the thai immigration doesn't allow young teenagers who travel alone to enter bangkok? Is this true?

Would they allow if i take in some authorization with me from my university or something?

Obviously you will get your visa from Thai Embassy before travelling. How can they deny a visa issued by their own embassy ?
I dont have any personal experience but think you will not face any problem just because an alone teen. They allow their teens to hover everywhere and do ALL kind of business so how can they stop others.

Visa isn't the main issue. Due to the massive amount of drug smuggling in thailand they usually have a strict checking against teenagers, who are mostly traveling without their family.

I just wanted to know how strict their checking is, and hopefully wouldn't deport someone. :p

Thailand is famous for prostitution more than smuggling...
They give everyone Visa, it is a tourist country so you dont have to worry... But i remember yesterday watching in TV about some huge Civil protest going against the government.. Just keep that in check..

I travelled to Thailand with a friend last year and never saw anyone face a problem at immigration. But both of us are in our 20's so cant say about the teenager issue you referred to.

I know some kids who got harassed at the Bangkok airport. After being locked up in a room for over 10 hours eventually got deported to malaysia where their connecting flight was from. They dont know what happened because the airport personnel only spoke in thai. they got pushed around, taken to separate rooms for interrogation, screamed at etc etc.

good luck

You need to get your degrees authorized, notarized, and have a lawyer draw up an affidavit. Also you will need certificates proving that got vaccinations for polio, meningitis, chicken pox, SARS, breast cancer, diabetes and also herpes.

Sure, anything that can help you to make a decision is always good for me.

2.89 rupees = 1 Thai Bhatt
100$ = 3540 Bhatt to a dollar

-Well visa is for thailand if approx = Rupees 3500 - 4500 for upto 15 - 30 days
- Now airline fare via cathay pacific is approx ( current dec - feb ) - Rupees - 50,000 and thai airways is approx - Rupees - 58,000 - 62,000 ( fares are linked to seasons )
- Entering Bangkok - Hotels - Cheap hotels are season wise $55 dollars ( 10% tax + 7% Gst + 2% insurance ) is going to be added on a normal 3 star hotel in sukumit or silom area, i would prefer sukmit as it is a tourist spot ( nana area, asoke, etc )
- Airport Taxi via toll bridge should take u around 500 Bhatt per side

Things you should use often. Take a Monorail pass ( MRT )which is per side 15 bhatt ( or weekly pass ) and it's really great to see the area and it covers most of bangkok. Plus Shopping center like MBK at national stadium side is a good place if you want cheap stuff.

Tourist Spots :
- Dream World Sports
- Crocodile Park
- Night Market ( mostly in sukhumit , silom )
- Water park

Visiting Thailand, one should visit pattaya. Pattaya City is conveniently located in Chonburi province.

If you travel from Bangkok's city centre and want to avoid an expensive taxi ride, your best option is to take a public bus from Ekamai bus terminal on Sukhumvit Road (BTS skytrain station). Air- conditioned coaches depart from Ekamai about every 30 minutes from 5h in the morning until late evening. One-way tickets cost around 120 Baht (fares frequently changing). The bus ride should not take longer than two hours. However, do make sure you catch a coach that takes the motorway and not the Sukhumvit route via Chonburi!
If you stay in Bangkok's North you can alternatively travel from Morchit bus terminal. Coaches to Pattaya depart every 30 minutes from 5h till 19h. The one-way fare is roughly 120 Baht, same as when travelling from Ekamai.
Roong Ruang Tour coaches (PattayaBus.com) will drop you off at Pattaya's main bus terminal at the Sukhumvit end of North Pattaya Road (Pattaya Nua), otherwise anywhere along Sukhumvit Road, from where you can continue your journey with a Baht-Bus taxi. Get Around in Pattaya.
Pannipa Pattaya Tour Co. Ltd. operate a daily minibus service between Bangkok and Pattaya at 150 Baht only. The Bangkok office and departure point is at the Victory Monument. Drop-off point in Pattaya is on Central Pattaya Road (Pattaya Klang) between Foodland supermarket and Big C Extra (formerly Carrefour). Departure times are every 30 minutes, from 5am to 8.30pm.
There are several other companies providing minivan services to Pattaya, all in the vicinity of the Victory Monument. Fares start at 100 Baht/person, and minivans are departing as frequently as every 15 minutes. PattayaVan is one of the more reputable companies providing such services.

Things to note :

Advantages:

  • CHEAP -- from 2.5 baht to 25 baht maximum from one edge of town to the other
  • Don't need to explain to taxi driver where to go; buses go most everywhere
  • Compared to driving, no need to find parking, deal with one-way routes, bad drivers, etc.
Disadvantages:

  • During rush hour, the buses are crowded with no seating
  • Pollution is bad on the roads waiting for the bus (sometimes heat, too)
  • Need a bus map in English; destinations written on bus are in Thai (some exceptions)
  • Slower than taxis, skytrain, motorcycle taxis, driving
  • Most buses stop service around 10-11pm (last one leaves station to start route at 10pm)
  • If you shop much, then better to carry your bags back via a taxi or your car than on a bus

Nevermind now, going directly to Philippines instead. Is Manila a good tourist place? Has anyone been there?
Less happening than bangkok. Do not forget the " Doles " pineapple at the small kiosks on the road.

The most upscale malls are in Greenbelt 4 and 5 at Ayala Centre and Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City, where there are famous brand shops like Mango, Armani and Bulgari. Visit the Divisoria Market where items are sold in bulk at jaw-dropping prices. You can find almost anything here, from cookware to lingerie to toys.

Divisoria is big and chaotic, but it is unparalleled for goods and prices. The mother of all Manila’s markets, chances are you will find whatever you are looking for here. More than anything else, Divisoria is known for textiles. Prices are generally wholesale and you can haggle to the last peso. I would recommend a local guide when venturing out to Divisoria, the chances of getting lost or ripped off are higher than normal here.

MRT: Recto Station
Address: Claro M. Recto Avenue, Manila

Greenhills Shopping Center
Located in an affluent suburb, Greenhills is not just exclusive to Manila's upmarket crew. One of the city's original consumer palaces, it opened in the 1970’s and still pulls in a good crowd eager to explore its rich and varied contents. Thousands of shoppers pile in on weekends to delve into the tiangge, with stalls featuring everything from video games to clothes to furniture.
Address: Ortigas Avenue, Manila

Las Tiendesitas
Located along the C5 road in Manila. Tiendesitas means a cluster of small shops and these closely resemble Bangkok's Chatachak Market. Tiendesitas sells native food, fashion wear and accessories, furniture, antiques, handicrafts, personal care and novelty items, pets, plants, and other Philippine–made products. A must-see when in Manila, if not to make purchases just to experience the sheer vibrancy of the place. A shuttle service leaves from Delicacies Village every hour between 15:00-19:00

Shangri La Plaza Mall
An upscale shopping mall (the name says it all) that encompasses three shopping havens – Marks & Spencer, Ruston’s Tower and Crossings. Packed with world-class brands such as Armani and Cerruti, this is the place to head if you want to kit yourself out in the latest fashions. Featuring great eateries and entertainment options, the mall is easily accessed via MRT.

he Philippines is an excellent destination for anyone interested in picking up elaborate handicrafts, home-furnishings, jewelry, embroidery and baskets. In buying traditional crafts such as silks and carvings, tourists are invariably helping to support a still-growing and fragile economy. There is no doubt that Manila is the place to go for serious shopping. This is a shopping capital, with many air-conditioned, brand-heavy, ultra-modern malls. If you’re looking to buy something a bit more indigenous then the various markets around Manila and on the other islands are laden with handmade, high-quality goods.

Away from Luzon Island and Cebu there is more of a market culture. With any travel experience a trip to the local market should always be a priority if you hope to get better acquainted with the culture and pick up some bargains. English is not an issue in " Manila "

It's now set low these days. Thaksin like our uncle z was making a mockery of Thailand. One thing I admire the bhudda law, that they very much united.
