Is there a "All in One Torrent Guide for Dummies" or some thing like that...
Coz i just joined the broadband party and i dont know thing about this..
Even though i m downloading heaps of stuff..
Here is how i do it i search on torrentz.com and then download with the utorrent..
but still there is some stuff that i dont find or some stuff with not enough seeders which actually makes the download suck or even impossible some times..
So a Guide would really be usefull..
Here is what i want to download usually..
1. Latest Hindi Movies
2. Latest Tamil Movies
3. Latest Xbox 360 Games
4. Latest PC games
5. Latest and authentically cracked Softwares (the cool ones)
6. Last but not the least the Latest Hollywood Movies and Television Series..

First of all...... you are trying to download a torrent which dont have a good health. That is why, it always shows RED in Utorrent's Download Progress bar.

2nd..... You need to forward ports. I know you have a SHIRO Modem, so it will be easy to make you understand, how you can forward them, i will send you the process via E-Mail. If you dont forward your ports, you will not have the actual downloading speed of a torrent.

3rd...... Ever heard of a "Seed"..... What does a "seed" do exactly..... Produce.... right? So........ Seeders calculate the health of a torrent. On the other hand, leechers are the opposite.

Those People who download a torrent, & also upload the same amount of data, they are called "Seeders"..... while those people, who download the torrent & dont upload the same amount of data, are called Leechers.

More seeders mean, more download speed & good health of torrent.

In Pakistan, our ISP's (Internet Service Provider's) usually dont give us higher upload speeds, so you dont have to worry about the upload, as people all around the world do this job easily having a huuge internet connection.

Some torrent sites, use the "ratio" based downloading. Those sites contain hight quality, verified & extreme speed torrents because people their are mostly seeders, because to survive their, you will have to upload the same amount of data after downloading a torrent. You need to balance your ratio their. Only at those sites, you have to maintain your download & upload. For Example, if you downloaded 1GB, you will also have to upload 1GB......... [To do that, you simply, download a torrent, from that site, (you will have to get an account first which is a difficult part), download it till it finishes, & after that, just leave in utorrent to upload, i will automatically starts uploading.... this process is called seeding.]

Keep in mind when you download a torrent file from any site, That torrent must have good amount of Seeders..... Because "More Seeders = More Speed"
"More Leechers = Less Speed"
thats right..... Leechers reduce the speed, thats all.......... If a torrent has atleast 1 seeder, you can download it ... But downloading this one is not a good choice......... There are several torrents of a single file, different from one another... so download that one having a good amount of seeders....... SO, Search Carefully & deeply for them, dont pick 'em up on first sight.......

after adding a torrent, wait for just 1 min, because the "Trackers" (derived from Track - a specifc way for torrents to transport data) takes some time to load....

:lol:I again give u same suggestion to read the above quoted post of yours. Speed Totally depends on the tracker. A private tracker is more powerful than a Public tracker.

i totally agree with you bro......
but that guy Arsalan.... i know him pretty well.
I know you think that I posted this just as i have wrong knowledge but thats the easy way i can make him understand. & there are some mistakes in my statements as you pointed them. Usually the seeders are, which i described above, but in Reality, A person who uploads a torrent the torrent & hold the ture copy of it is known as a seeder. More persons containing the same copy & seeding the torrents to keep it healthy are called seeders. ....... Please correct me if i am wrong.

2ndly, the process of seeding starts AFTER you finishes your downloading... because when you are finished with downloading, you became a TRUE COPY HOLDER of that torrent, & NOW, we are also included in seeders because WE HAVE THE TRUE COPY & WE ARE SEEDING (UPLOADING IT) TO KEEP THE TORRENT HEALTHY....... Again, Please make corrections if something wrong i said.

ITs just the simplest way to make someone understand, you know.... the Desi Tareeqa....

You probaby will be using public trackers as u r new to torrent so the best thing is for u to look for the torrents who have higher number of seeds for the time being.

I was able to forward my port and yesterday night I was getting a speed of 250Kbps, now its back to 40-50kbps, port is still forwarded....what should i do to make my speed go up?
any tweaks and changes that you guys did to make the speed go up?

if your ports are being forwarded then possibly it is due to less seeders of the torrent you are downloading.
Try downloading a torrent which have very good health. & then tell us.

i did....actually it was the same torrent that was giving me 225kbps.....but now it isnt
Right now i tried another torrent
tracker is piratebay, seeders: 518, leechers 548...
so far (for the past one hour) i'm getting 10kbps upload and 0kbps download although i have seeders connected to me.....is there anything that can be done about this stupid variable speed...*sigh*
