5th Episode was a mixed bag. It was mildly interesting, very amusing, but overall much less brilliant than the previous episodes. Nonetheless, it was a likeable one. My problem this time, was with
flashy cameras. They have started to become a bit too flashy, that they ruin the mood and make the review a little stupid. On the upside, no humongous cinema bars. So thats a huge plus.
About the
LaFerrari review, if i am honest, I liked May's review but hated the car overall. If you think about it, the
Porsche 918 is the engineering marvel of them all, and
P1 as runner up. Ferrari's concept of 'not giving a f*ck about batteries' might put them on the brilliant board for some, but i genuinely believe that doesn't make their LaFerrari any better than their previous ferraris, except faster, agile and so on. Also, even in styling department, the '
discreet' and '
quietly beautiful' Porsche takes the lead. (What i think is irrelevant anyway, so WTH).
About the lap times, its not the first time Ferrari has done something like this. Anyone remember
FXX? That car driven at the test track by Michael Schumacher because Ferrari won't let TheStig drive it?
ABSURD. Also, it sends the wrong message out that '
they are afraid they might lose to their rivals'. But the pricing may attract the '
right' buyers (if you know what i mean). About the '
banning by Ferrari' part, can't believe they can go to such limits <_< Personally, any company pulling such tricks should be shown a "GTFO" sign, and i am pretty sure many people already do.
The small mockumentary about Peugeot, it was very enlightening and staggering at the same time. For a company deliberately making bad cars, they are pretty good at it. I say this because no company 'serious' in making cars, can make same mistake multiple times. So that '
meeting' pretty much sums up whatever must have happened to it. Not sure about you, but i laughed my guts off at the stupid '
Maniacal' stuff both Clarkson and May were doing. That Face, don't forget that face both of them were constantly pulling in their vehicles
It would have been the best comparison of the decade.
THIS. Completely agree on this. Not to mention, we have been waiting for it since the Series 21 (or was it 20?).
Also, think about it for a minute ... which is the most practical car of them all. It'd be obvious to find the winner. Its the
918.
