Instead of a beautifully cinematic drive into the French sunset, the special concluded with presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond on the side of the freeway, being lectured, fined, and banned from driving in France by police.
As Jeremy Clarkson likes to say, “that’s not gone well.”
The dynamic duo is back for round two, however, as Top Gear just dropped the trailer for the aptly-named “The Perfect Road Trip 2.”
The film documents Clarkson and Hammond’s 500-mile jaunt across Italy, with stops in Venice, Siena, Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, and the Amalfi coast with automotive debauchery to match.
The list of cars they’ll be driving are, expectedly, a who’s who of sports car royalty. The McLaren P1, Lamborghini Huracan, BMW M4, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and Jaguar F-Type should make memorable appearances, although we’re a tad worried about the Jag. There’s also some vintage cars rummaging about in the film, including some classic Ferraris slamming into each other, two beautiful Alfas from the ‘60s, and on the Island of Capri, the legendary … Ford Capri?
