I'm pretty sure Ben was refering to the island as the box. Whatever people have needed something they were brought to the island... whether it was a spinal surgeon or some asshole of a dad.

Locke's dad has gone by two different pseudonyms to my knowledge: Anthony Cooper and Adam Seward (the latter as of this latest ep).
An anagram for "Anthony Cooper, Adam Seward" is: "Sawyer, the con man, a poor dad."
Locke's dad is the real sawyer Abuses will lead to banes

omg ! thats what i thought after wacthing the first few minutes of the episode , locke`s father is the real sawyer !

come to think of it , how did the others create these files on all the survivors ? where did they get the information ? do they have a relative of all the survivors on the island ? are we gonna see jack`s and sun`s dad too ? omggasp

i wonder whats gonna happen now , i dont think ben will let them go. he wants locke to join him but the french chick might rescue them in the end.

seems my dad theory is more and more likely, locke and hurley's dad are the most interesting IMO ( does this means sawyer dad's is alive? or there are some people refereed to as not being in the list does that mean they are not signed up by their dads for dharma? )
