That's great. Can you kindly post all the charges of Installation.

I paid 16,500 PKR for ONT, installation and monthly bill.. I had an option of installment but I didnt opt for it.. Paying full is good. My monthly bill would be 2947PKR with Internet and Phone line (using only for incoming calls).. Plus I have unlimited plus bundle which inlcudes social apps, youtube, netflix at 30Mbps and its unlimited.

yup thats what I am asking I am subscribed to 50mbps package but router xdsl shows 100mbps profile rate.

ptcl trick is that I cant get more than 50mbps down and 25mbps up on speed tests.

only benefit is now I can upload a file at a 25mpbs speed and at same time download file at 50mbps speed without any fluctuation in up/down previously if i upload a file my download speed went down to 20mbps

Does anyone know the password of GPON home internet device with username AdminGPON? When they first installed, it was accepting the default password for this user, but after configuration, it seems they have changed the password. I need to configure a modem port but it is only possible with this username. The other user named "userAdmin" does not have the privileges. Seems like PTCL guys use some common password like the "8288" for the smart TV device config, but what is it?

For the majority of VDSL users, attainable rate is below 100 Mbps, so PTCL only offers up to 50 Mbps on VDSL.

If you can get permission from exchange manager and higher ups, your line can handle 100 Mbps, easily.

It will be a tricky situation though, and I'm not sure they will go for it. Because if you run into issues after upgrading to 100, they will not be able to provide support because they don't technically offer that speed.
And unfortunately PTCL doesn't offer anything between 50 and 100 Mbps, so settling somewhere around 75-80 Mbps also isn't possible.

VDSL doesnt support over 50Mbps.. Higher rates are only attainable on GPON.

It does support over 50. People get up to 250 Mbps on VDSL abroad.

PTCL just doesn't offer it because of the way they have implemented it here.

I am just surprised to see that PTCL has set your line for 100mbps and with 8ms delay your overall ping might be around 12-15ms. Do you ever face any disconnections as the SNR margin is less than 10?

people in UK have their SNR go as low as 3dBm but still they have stable connections. Its just need line without any distortion in physical connection water and air tight contacts for wires and here your lineman twist two wires together for connection which is not the proper or standard telecom connection

Stormfiber has been finally granted permission to Wapda Town, Lahore and I have also noticed some digging going around in my area but not sure if its related to Stormfiber but at least now I will be able to threaten PTCL once it goes live in my block about switching providers when they f**k with me.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
