it was working fine here too a week ago now i cant stream anything without buffering every few seconds can only watch 160P i tried google dns too but still buffering and yes google dns is faster websites load faster compared to cloudflare 1.1.1.1

DNS has nothing to do with ISP throttling as far as i know. Look into Net neutrality i'm sure PTCL is upto something. I can stream on 720 60p without any buffering except on few occasions i do buffer but i guess that's just my 4 mbps connection split across 3 devices.

Help needed

Hi Guys,

I am new here. Hope everyone is in good health. I need some help with my ptcl connection and bf3. I am using ptcl dsl 8mb on vdsl with windows 10. I mostly play bf3 online on european servers ( i am old )

The issue started about 2 months back when i stopped getting ping (ping not visible) on battelog for the servers i used to play on and when i try to join a server, it says cannot join server.

I only get ping on 1-2 european servers, 1 british server and 2-3 russian servers. But none of these servers include the ones on which i used to play.

I tried contacting EA and they suggested to open up some ports via my router, which i did but to no avail.

Is anyone else facing the same issue on bf3 or bf4 because i have the same issue on both. I can play apex legends fine.

BF3 is the game which i enjoyed playing and now my experience has been ruined. I suspect this has to do with ptcl routing. BTW i enabled fast path too in order to see if it fixes the issue but that has not done anything either.

Can you guys help me out plz? I will be immensely grateful if you guys can somehow get this solved for me.

My internet is a mess since few days, I cannot find what's wrong maybe someone here can tell since complaining at PTCL twitter didn't really help me as they say "it's resolved". Could be something else I'm not noticing but it's happening through multiple devices.

Problem being slow browsing, I'm using normal 25Mbps broadband (Gulshan Exchange which comes in their "New Network Exchanges" thing), no GPON. Are my stats okay?

Same issue for me and only in bf3 and bf4. Yes, it's their routing issue or some new 'chinese' firewall related sh*t. You can play on zong 4g, it gives decent pings on most of the EU servers. Also, enable 'Optimize Bandwidth Usage' in BF4 Gameplay settings in-game, it will consume much less data then.

Exactly same thing happening with me since May, have tried everything, complained, guy came. Checked everything but still no solution found nor any reason behind this.

yup same here bro, gulzar Hijri exchange, 15mbps connection vdsl. Downloading is fine though but browsing is totally crap.

It's their routing issue. They have no clue about it whatsoever. The most they would do is forward a complain regarding high ping in online games.

I know this is a bit disconnected from the theme, but can anyone suggest a usb wifi dongle that works well with the huawei ptcl modems?

I currently have a supposed 300mbps wn823n tp link dongle, but that's crap, and i think it's performance is going down by the day. Is that even possible? diminishing performance?

my mobile seems to offer better speeds, in the same vicinity as the dongle, even though the mobile connects at a lower overall speed to the router.

Edit: perhaps its a windows issue? has anyone noticed slowdowns on the latest windows 10 build, 1903? Or maybe the GPON huawei routers are trash with wifi handling? any suggestions, anyone?

The Huawei ONTs are trash when it comes to WiFi. I'd recommend disabling WiFi on the ONT, getting a decent dual band router and a dual band WiFi adapter for your PC.

Much better. The difference is massive.

No crackling, no random noises, however if you use a GPON line to call a classic copper number, you'll still face noise in the call if the other line is shitty.

This happens when I call my grandparents, they always say the call quality is perfect, but I can hear some noise whenever they talk since they use shitty old copper landline.
