ok so, i got ptcl 6mb connection apparently when they came and installed it was 4MB connection i complained like 6 times now i got call from them and they're telling me YOU'RE LINE IS NOT CAPABLE OF RUNNING A 6MB CONNECTION? yet they still wanna charge me for 6mb and not upgrade?

ptcl is just a fraud company. Get rid of it as soon as u can.

dude porblem is there is no other isp avalaible... but zong,jazz they good still they have a capped data... i use like 10 gb daily... aur torrent in addition...

share your modem stats we cant say whats wrong with your line without stats and also share your distance from ptcl cabinet and exchange

can somebody tell me the difference between these two routes to singapore amazon server plzz, one is giving 300ms ping and the other is giving 130ms. Both seem the same except for one hop which tells that one is going from rwp and the other from khi. Can somebody go in depth with whats happening here:

I have no idea, but try restarting your modem after a few hours and see if you are put on either another route, or if your pings magically improve (because so far, that seems to be the only way - or it could have been that you were assigned a different set of computer/routes and your hops improved?).

The IP which you were getting 300ms on in the first test is giving me 112ms. I can't explain why, and I think neither can PTCL.

Even if you get 6mb the speed will still be crap. I have 20mbps VDSL and i don't get higher than 500kbps on some IDM downloads.

It's more or less the same route, just higher pings, probably due to congestion, same issue that TW is having during peak hours with AWS servers.

It's the same route, just high pings because of congestion at NTT where PTCL has direct peering. Very similar to TW peering with OmanTel that also faces congestion during peak hours.

Same issue here. Complain complain complain, but no way Ptcl will do anything they are so deet. 6mbps, distance from 200m, from exchange 1km. I am losing my mind

He means that he's getting charged for 6 Mbps while getting 4 Mbps and they won't upgrade it to the complete 6.

AOA Guys, few days back my area network was upgraded to fiber and we were told that we can then go for any high speed package, today I called 1218 for converting to 20 mbps from my current 4 mbps connection, they asked details etc and finally said that it would be done within 48 hours, now my connection has been upgraded, however it is not 20mbps and I believe it is 10mbps (but on IDM I am getting max speed of 1.5mbps download) and the parameters are showing this (see picture below). I also got a message from ptcl that your requested data rate has been fulfilled...something like that sms. So is my connection converted to 20mbps? but since I have ADSL modem I cannot attain that much speed? or has the exchange just given me 10 mbps? please clarify..thank you

You should have asked to convert to VDSL first if it was available.

Your line can't sustain 20 Mbps, it's set to around 14 Mbps right now which is the max available speed.

So this is the max speed I will get regardless of I convert to vDSL now or not? also seems like the package is 20mbps but due to line limitation I am getting 14mbps right?

No, this is the max speed you can get on ADSL2.

You can get up to 100 Mbps on VDSL.

Lastly, correct, you're on 20 Mbps but they've set it to 14 max because that's all the line is capable of.
