Is anyone in Karachi suffering from authentication errors? PTCL DSL hasn't been working for the past 3 days because of it and the complaint registration guy said that its happening all over Karachi.
Is Adsl light is stable? try resetting dsl password from their csr. This worked for me when internet light turned red

AuthenticTion error in diagnosis panel appeared last sunday. As per csr it was some fiber cut in my area. But it started working after 3 hrs.

Okay, i got it done. There's one thing you can try, you might have the same "issue" which I did. This may or may not be the entire story, since I was only relayed this information by the tech guy.

It's fairly simple/more or less risk free. All you have to do is reset the modem to factory settings. Yes, that's it. But be sure to make a backup of the config file before you reset it, just in case.

I'm guessing you know, but through the modem interface:
1. Management>Settings>Backup
2. Management>Settings>Restore Default.

It takes a little while to sync back up, so dont panic if you get a red light. If it doesnt go away for like 5-10 minutes, just restore the backed up file. IF that doesnt work, lemme know I have one more idea.

Tried it. The modem is syncing but the internet is not working. Share your modem page.

1. No, my landline number remains the same.
2. My line stats are more or less the same as everyone else here on vdsl, ~300 down/upstream snr etc.

Go through this link, it has explanations and screenshots. The vlan mux id seems to be "10" as far as i can tell. It needs to be put in WAN settings. You'll need to add an entry for PPP 2.1, if it's not present I think.

From that thread: "simply login to ur router. click on advance setup>>modify connection >> put ur 4 digit vlan mux id in ppp2.1 and tht's it. ur router is configured. no other setting needed. "

Edit: There's a post at the bottom with a couple of screenshots. Those are the settings needed. Mainly, the ppp2.1 setting NEEDS to be present, AND configured with the vlanmuxid of 10. The ppp2.1 is the only mode that actually connects out of all the other present settings, in vdsl.

Yes, its syncing. But after that internet light goes off. And what is this vlan mux id - Where do i get it? And Where should I put them?

I have only atm2.1 and ppp0.1. There is no ppp2.1

Something is weird is going in my area. Since morning sometimes my Landline dies, sometimes no link, ppp down or no access from backend. Happening since few days and gets fixed after 5-6pm -.-"

Is this due to upgrading? (I hope pls)

Can you come on teamviewer and have a look at my modem settings?
