Well it improved drastically for me ! . Aside from the download / upload speeds, i am getting 50-55 ms on Dubai servers , and 150-155 on EU Servers.

I never faced a single issue with my connection. Though i give a few hundred rupees to the line man after every 2-3 months (regardless if there are any issues or not). This always works in PTCL`s case !

Changing line path to fast and then upgrading to VDSL = no use. As I want VDSL more than fast because of the higher upload.

Anyone using VDSL from F-8 Exchange, please let me know if there is any useful person inside the exchange to help me about VDSL as I personally can't go and visit them (I'm on a wheelchair).

I am not from Islamabad, but honestly, I could not get PTCL to convert from ADSL to VDSL through their numbers like 1236 or 1218... I placed the order on 1236.. i nagged the twitter guy... I even complained on 1218. I finally talked with my line man and he said sir you need to get the modem changed yourself from the office. I had to go to their office. You should ask someone you know to do it for u.

I recently switched from ADSL to VDSL. The pings are the same. The upload speed has significantly improved, from 1 to 5 mbps, on my 20mbps package. But the connection is still unreliable.

That's a bummer, but I still get higher upload, so that'll be a plus

So far I've tried
Asking the local exchange guys
Asking the twitter guy
Asking on 1236
Placing an order for 50mbps connection so they would be forced to switch me to VDSL and I'd later revert to 20.

So far nothing has worked, the local exchange guys told me 20 days ago to wait 15 days as all connections will be converted to vdsl....

I doubt they'll change every connection to VDSL. You need a vdsl modem for it to work. Plus not everyone might be willing to upgrade since the packages start from 8mbps. Did you ask the exchange if they have the VDSL card installed in your cabinet? Usually this is the reason for them not installing VDSL connections.

I too tried everything... but couldn't get my modem changed. Finally I went to their service center. It took less than half hour

Local exchange guy confirmed VDSL Availability plus Gulgasht Exchange Multan is a Transformed exchange so VDSL has to be available. It's just the local guys being lazy AF. One guy in the exchange legit told me "it's stuck" I asked what do you mean and he said "hum command dete hain aor kuch nahi hota" I asked him when will it be repaired and he said "Never" LOL

Line upgradation doesnt matter . Port upgrade will surely have disconnections if he is saying so. But share your line stats and will be able to tell if u will face disconnections or no

if these are ur line stats on a 8mb line then YES u will surely face disconnections as ur snr margin is already low. anything below 10 snr and u will face disconnection.
