No fix, Valve's at fault. Their packet proxies are not yet up on the link from which PTCL and Valve initially set up peering between themselves. They said it can take a few more weeks to set up ... :|

So, although Valve's Amsterdamn link is up but they haven't yet set up packet proxies on it.

I am still working on it if you must know! Hopefully, things will improve.

I am trying to get PTCL to use an indirect route but one which gives <200ms since Valve's issue might take time.

so yesterday i talked with live chat representative of ptcl. who told me that vdsl is available in my area. i asked for gpon he said no. i want a decent 8 mbps connection and i need advice that is vdsl any good ? how to know that they are actually providing vdsl with fiber backbone ?

Few things i looked around in my neighbourhood:

*there is a cabinet one street away from my street (for eg i am in a the cabinet is in c). i dont know it has fiber but i think so because it was all locked up with gates . est distance from that cabinet to my house would be around 300 to 350 meter.

*there is a second cabinet(normal one known as voice switch or what ever) in between thats in b street dont know if its in working condition or expired/discontinued.

* few meters from my house there is a DP( from where i suppose the copper line will start and end at my home). i have heard that dps with fiber in them are best but i cant figure out if it has fiber or copper shit in it.

Cant understand why im getting 300 ping in BF4 on German and othrr European servers whereas ny frnds getting 200. How can it be possible? We All have PTCL connection. Cant understand whts the issue

I don't think you are on FAST. Open up command prompt and type in tracert 103.10.124.1, give it time to complete and when it finishes take a screenshot and post here.

Your latency is all over the place. Anyways, you are on FAST and this is the best that you can do because as per what I've been told, PTCL are lowering everyone's line profiles. Previously, they were accounting for the overhead that eats up bandwidth by providing a slightly higher line profile. In layman terms, on a 4096 profile, 200-400Kbps bandwidth is used up as overhead and you get 3.4-3.6mbps download speed on a 4mbps connection.

You can try complaining at PTCLCares again and asking for your line profile to be increased because you aren't getting full 3.9-4.0mbps speed.

It varies from either France 1 or France 3. Sometimes France 1.1, those are what I use 90% of the time.

My line stats are normal. They've been br same for ages now.

However, the internet just refuses to work.
Strange part, it connects, I'm assigned an IP address from 39.40.x pool and it shows connected.

Nothing. No browsing, downloading, ping, nslookup. Nothing works.

Restarted countless times, have complained now too. But wtf?

I've never come across such an issue before.

I have a very weird problem. Has been going on for 3 days now.

At around 10:30 - 11:00 every night, my internet just stops working. I don't understand why.
Chrome shows a DNS error, however IP address is assigned from PTCL.
I tried PTCLs DNS, OPENDNS, Google DNS and Level3. None of them work.

It starts working again itself at around 12:30 AM then.

Why is this?

I complain, but by the time they check, my internet has reconnected and works fine the rest of the day.
