1) Set up and configure brand new MSAG since the infrastructure in my area was ancient. This involves assignment of a site IP and ID from the NOC in H-9 and then 'energizing' the network itself since the fiber is 'dark' right now.
2) Order fresh stock of ONTs from their warehouse in F-5. It takes like a day or two for the regional manager to sign off on an order of ONTs, and then they'll be driven over to the relevant exchange.
3) Then get a splicing and CPE installation team ready to start deploying connections at customers houses. The ONT is then installed and connected at your home, but authentication will take time, read point below.
4) Depending on how early / late you apply for a connection, a new Account ID and phone number are assigned. Then the guy who installed your connection will coordinate with NOC, who will bind the new line profile he just created to the MAC address of the ONT installed at your place.
5) The whole point of GPON rollout is to avoid manual configuration of CPEs, so the new config file will be pushed remotely from the OLT to the ONT installed at your house, after which it will automatically reboot, authenticate and be assigned an IP.
