According to a screenshot from PTCL group chat (thanks to Nabeel), Telenor is using B3 (1800) + B1 (2100) CA in Wah Cantt.

The phone (Huawei P30 Pro) seems to support Band 5, but it was not being aggregated or shown at all in the list of Telenor cell sites. Curious as to why they're only doing 2CA and not 3CA with Band 5 as well.

Status bar icon showed 4G+ but Huawei phones don't report LTE BW so the NetMonster app couldn't show it.

Can anyone else with a Telenor SIM and a Samsung phone test their 4G (while a speedtest is running) and see what bands are active in Service Mode?
But PTCL no announcement to acquire telenor still ?

Just asked zong for voLTE, said it isn't available commercially, and they don't know when it will be available.

Is it good value to purchase an mbb device like charji/ zong 4g if:

- We have a good home internet connection but require internet for emergency outages

- When we are out of home/traveling to use this device instead of mobile hotspot to protect mobile battery

Question: Which device has daily/weekly bundles available for above purposes and best overall signals? (not interested in monthly bundles)

Better get an unlocked device from market. And use whichever sim you want. Now a days all networks providing upto 200 GB data and offers daily, weekly and monthly bundles. If you need it only for emergency get an unlocked device and subscribe to package as per your usage on when you need. MBB monthly packages are expensive.

Are the unlocked devices readily available in the market?

Are any devices available with Carrier Aggregation enabled?
None of the local telcos offer MBB devices with CA enabled, which is weird cause Zong and Jazz have had CA for a while now, but everyone still offers the same old Cat4 LTE devices.

So if you see any devices with Zong, Telenor or Jazz branding on them, you can be sure they don't support CA.

With that being said, I have seen some foreign branded (but unlocked) devices. Typically from Middle East or UK cause they use similar LTE bands as we do in Pak. Some of those do have CA, but not necessarily all the correct combos enabled. You'll have to test them with the carrier of your choice before buying.

I bought a Huawei B535-232 from Amazon UK (while I was abroad) and brought it back to Pak. Works perfectly with Jazz 4G+ (only tested B3+B8). It's been running for 2+ years in a rural area with an external antenna and it's easily able to achieve 50-60 Mbps during the day. If you can find one of those, I highly recommend it.

Unpopular opinion, but why not get another phone and use a data sim in that? Would that also be bound by the PTA IMEI rules?

A cheapo phone (that supports carrier aggregation) would work... right?

For moving around and use as a portable device, yeah I would say a phone works 10x better than any of these cheap MBB devices. However, getting a phone that supports 3xCA and 256QAM (for Jazz) would be far more expensive than a used unlocked MBB device.

Phone would still need PTA approval though. In fact, even my Huawei box needed to be approved.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
