Same, wasn't able to check since I was only in Islamabad for an hour so, and spent the entire time outside. Signal bounced around between 2 and 4 bars.

Root: I know it's not hard. I've done it every time before the Pixel 2. It's the double partition bit which I think I messed up in between. Oh well. Maybe another day.

Yeah I remember you had the Pixel 2 as well... But I can't be bothered now.

I tried it once. I didn't brick it - but I was able to restore the firmware. This time, I just chose to do nothing on my laptop, despite having Fastboot working the night before.

I tested both Mobilink and Zong on the chair I'm on right now - Zong was giving me slightly higher speeds before the recording since my phone was about 2 feet away from where I am, but in the video, I only moved it one foot away.

As for Mobilink - right in the end, when the speeds jump to 50Mbps, I moved the phone one foot towards the direction of the tower (more like rotated my phone). Prior to that, it wasn't facing the tower.

I never got more than 7 Mbps (at best) before but decided to randomly test it since Mobilink 900Mhz 3G is completely dead, and it's not getting fixed.

TA means "timing advance". I'm not sure what exactly it means but it appears sometimes. Something to do with a method of reducing interference amongst cells, IIRC.

I tested Zong in the alley where there's KFC, Breakout and Miniso. On Zong. I was getting between 8 and 10Mbps (average) downloads. No screenshots, unfortunately, since I was trying to measure the consistency.

Which, if I remember correctly, is much better than 1.5Mbps which I was previously getting.

And the RSRP/RSRQ levels were pretty good, so it's either some weird interference, or lots and lots and lots of users in that area.

I'd like to try in the spot where P&J's is - since I know Zong was very crap there.

I honestly think it's not possible to get good LTE speeds in Civic Center.

I don't know if the proximity to grid station causes it, or whether it's all the buildings, or the load on the tower, but despite having full signal, SINR and RSRQ will always be shit, no matter where you stand.

Same for Chaaye Khana. The tower will be right in front of you (if you sit outside), but the speeds will struggle to go above 6 Mbps.

I remember Telenor gave me up to 20Mbps downstream (back in the days) in the evenings when Pizza Originale was there - they have a tower nearby.

So, it seems Gujranwala has more 4G+ than Islamabad [emoji23]

Visiting Gujranwala again and surprised to see 4G+ indoors. Sitting right in the middle of a closed in mohalla, ground floor.

Did a few speestests @ Lahore Telenor server and Karachi Transworld server.

Speed is consistent but nothing to write home about.
