So I'm in Karachi right now (near Port Grand). And bit, are the speeds unimpressive.

Strangely, the signal strength is fine but the signal quality isn't. It's like Zong... At that area. And I'm testing it in the open space.

The same thing is happening when I'm inside Movenpick.

Also, pings? Not impressive. The first hop is 40ms (so everything is 40ms late). If you minus 40ms from all ping results, then yeah, it's impressive but computers don't work that way.

Speed test showed me a download of 8-9Mbps for one test... When I moved a bit more, it eventually stopped at 18Mbps. At Port Grand.

zong gave me 40mbps stable st movenpick, if you can peek out from your room balcony at the pool side you can see zong's antennas facing towards Movenpick building for that epic connection, my stay there was great with zong but Movenpick's room wifi isnt bad either

I just tested Mobilink: 20mbps down. That's faster than the hotel WiFi which is capped to 5mbps.

But damn, pings from Karachi are nice! It's a shame pings degrade with fiber... And that PTCL doesn't really want to improve their routing.

This bit, Transworld got it right.

Those of you who are getting poor speeds should install larger antennas. You can buy larger indoor antennas and even external ones.

These devices are supposed to be portable and easy to use. There's literally no point to them if you have to buy an antenna for it.

You sure your phone isn't the issue? Because so far, you're the only one with issues.

Not that I'm pointing fingers, but what I'm trying to say is perhaps the device you're using is bugged?

Also, it's odd how the upload speeds are much faster than the download speeds - if the signal strength is poor, the upload speeds suffer drastically. But this doesn't seem to be happening in your case.
