Logan 8/10.
Oh man what a sad ending to such a wonderful ride. High on emotions along-with fantastic acting by Hugh Jackman and Dafne Keen.
although a little less action but who cares when you have such a wonderful story.

ARRIVAL (2016)

'... and so they did.'

"Oh kill me, please. Oh, so f*cking boring. Did i leave the stove on? Wait, Why am i watching this". These are Some of the many questions lurking in my mind during the first 70 minutes ... where literally NOTHING happens. It's the final 30 minutes or so where i actually paid a wee bit of attention. It's Amy Adams show all the way. I don't want to not appreciate the cinematic value, direction and craft here, because coming from the same director of Sicario, it's actually excellent. Tension built goes for far too long, and then the pressure is released at once, because 'in your face'. There is a whole 15 minutes or so worth of scene, only to be amazed by the different gravity inside the alien ship. Wow, right? Meh.

At nearly 2 hours, it's quite boring as well. ahem, VERY. So hold your horses till the end, and you may get out 'something' in return. I got, like, 6/10 worth of entertainment. Safe to say i would NEVER watch this sh*t again. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat. Sorry, not sorry.
To each his own I guess.

I personally loved this film. Haven't done its review yet. Currently, my favorite film of 2016, alongside perhaps Hacksaw Ridge (still have to watch tons of films from 2016).

In Dubious Battles

I think this movie could have been better, as good as "Free State of Jones" but James Franco should only do stupid movies. The movie fails to build any emotional attachment to any characters. People appear on camera, do their dialogues and cut to new scene. Things happen abruptly and then they end just like they started.
Many important events of the time which were deliberately explained by Steinbeck in his novel were blatantly ignored or sometimes I think James didn't even read the novel or understood his own character. Ed Harris, was that Ed Harris who got shot just after few seconds?
One of the strangest editing done to make things more disjointed. It is best directorial work by James but I wish he would have let someone else do the job.
For someone who has not read the novel, it will be a good entertainment and initially I did like the movie (7/10) but when I read the novel, I could easily find the short comings n voids in the movie. Books can never be turned to a great movie.

No Tears for the Dead

Just finished watching this South Korean Action/thriller movie and I reckon, this is one of the best Korean Action stuff amongst many. It is just not the simple gun fight or usual action, but has brutal scenes like the hitman opening them up with knife, just as we seen in Raid1-2 ( I guess raid title is enough for reference). Story revolves around the Hitman (Gon), Triad gang (his old friends) and the girl's(Yumi) mother who's daughter has been killed by a hitman. when Hitman sent out to take care of her mother, instead he fell in emotions. So, the real action starts sooner when they realize hitman betraying them. The action sequences are mixed from brutal scenes to gunfights stylish and bloody, for which South korean movies are best known for. Have watch so many South Korean titles, but this has its own style. Following the characters, different languages has been spoken such as Korean, English, Spanish etc. So it has a resemblance to other korean movies such as 'The Berlin File', 'A company Man' and 'The Man from Nowhere' (Same director).

I would definitely Recommends this movies who loves korean stylish and bloody action flicks. 8/10

"Tae Guk Gi: The Brother" is another korean classic war movie, the leading character is same as in "No Tears for the Dead". Interesting and worth watching.

Castaway on the Moon

Sometimes loneliness and boredom are your only hope!

Just finished watching Castaway on the Moon and to be honest, I find it a lot more than just a movie. The concept behind this movie is simple, living on earth is very easy, especially for those who have been in comfort zone but real life starts when you walk outside. Based on a man who frustrated from his wife, work and home and wanted to kill himself, instead he finds himself in a situation where he can't even die, not even if he tries to. Found an island on which he has to do all the hardwork to eat and living. The movie gets interesting when he finds he is actually not on an empty moon (the island), but he has been on watch of someone. Overall the movie is very well paced. I never find a moment i need to forward a minute of this movie. There are couple of funny parts, that made me laugh relentlessly. Well, Castaway on the Moon is an inspiring work, to say the least.

Would Recommend this movie to all 9/10

Apart from Blood and action, korean cinema can deliver some lovely art work too. They have some beautiful love stories in the form of 'A Moment to remember', 'The Classic' and 'Always'.

tangled before ever after 5/10

in contrast to the first i think they destroyed the movie. animation was way inferior than before and story line wasnt good either (may be due to this being a TV movie and not being released for Big screen)

Saw "Kong Skull Island" in IMAX premiere show at CINESTAR

Spoiler: show

Ok first OFF the dunkirk trailer (Longest i've ever seen) was DAMN AWESOME ON IMAX w000w, i wasn't feeling it for this movie but DAMN this thing was AWESOME NOLAN is doing WW right man uff that sound and that direction :D

spoilers below regarding movie proceed with caution

ok let's get to business with KONG, this movie has made kong a rockstar LOL with those 70's 80's song's coming and going inbetween it was a blast watching KONG ON IMAX and man it was something good to see

samuel L jackson the man who hell bent on revenge after KONG for killing his men and the other people who saw the softer side of KONG and thought of him of more as an ally than monster

the movies effect and fight scenes were awesome, the start scene of the movie was quite thrilling and awesome which kept me hooked from the start... KONG'S entries here and there a true hero he was haha

one thing i didn't like was the suddent forced kinda attraction towards brie larson, i mean the first kong 2005 one i saw his attraction towards naomi watts was still on spot but this one seemed quite forced to me.. like he is killing people eating em and than wham bam suddenly see's brie and is like OK i can breed with her :p

other than that the movie was ACTION PACKED AND HUMOUROUS !

Rating: 8/10

The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Purge franchise so far:

  • First one: Lame. So much potential, but wasted.
  • Anarchy: The only decent one.
  • Election Year: Back to being lame.

I just keep hoping they will properly utilize the world they have created, but so far, nada. 5/10

Here's my full review:
