DeepWater horizon 7/10. well when i first saw the trailer of this movie, i was expecting it to be something good but it just fall shot of "something good". Its one
of those movies that takes a while to get things going and most of the thrill is in the second half. Story is based upon real life incident happened
on an off-shore rig station and how its crew survived. CGI is good, emotionally this movie has its moments but not the stuff you often associated with these type of movies.

P.s. that jump scene damn man worth every penny of yours.

MECHANIC: RESURRECTION (2015)

"No Choice ..."

Yea, no choice to skip this because of dear Jason. There is a very good movie somewhere deep inside this sh*tfest. Infested with shaky cams, bad cinematography, horrendous acting, and stupid stunts ... this is like a 'serious' parody of old Mechanic movie. Not even Jessica Alba's once-cute face could save the appalling destiny of it. Is it good? Absolutely not. But Jason Statham, duller than ever, is a wee bit enjoyable, as always. 5/10

Warcraft..............................(8/10) watched in HD, well I have never played and Warcraft or World of Warcraft game, so I was a total newbie for this franchise! But surprisingly it turned out good, had a nice time watching it, now if only I can understand how to play Warcraft! :tears:

X-Men: Apocalypse...........................(8/10) watched in HD, our General Zia ul Haq had a cameo in this movie and so did that character that made me jump in excitement like a little kid, oh yeah m talking about the Wolverine! I still liked Days of Future Past more but this wasn't bad either!

The Legend of Tarzan (2016)

The Legend of Tarzan is an action adventure film based on the iconic character, Tarzan. Not a huge fan or anything, but I have enjoyed the character and his tale in the Disney animated film when I was young. The other live versions, however, sucked. So I didn't really know what to expect from this film, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The thing I liked the most was how they didn't just remade his origin story as the whole movie, but actually told a tale years later. That, from the get-go, hooked me in. Tarzan is settled in England, with Jane, but due to some events happening in his home, he has to go back. And while the story had its issues, it was decent enough that I wanted to see what will happen next. You do get some of the backstory via flashbacks, which were pretty good.

Alexander Skarsgard was a great casting choice as Tarzan. He felt like Tarzan, and he definitely, DEFINITELY looked the part. Margot Robbie as Jane was pretty good as well. She looked gorgeous and she was more than just a typical damsel in distress, which being a Tarzan film, you know it's a given she'd eventually get that role. The best character, however, for me was the one played by Samuel L Jackson. He was the main supporting character, and while his character, for the first half anyway, acted as the exposition tool to give info to the audience, he brought a good amount of energy and fun to the movie, considering most of the movie is serious and dramatic. Some of his scenes made me laugh out loud. Chirstoph Waltz played his usual calm collected villain self, and he worked for the movie.

The movie is well shot for the most part. The beautiful Congo was gorgeous to look at. I also quite enjoyed the score. Some of the pieces were great. The movie had some great moments, especially for those who have seen the animated film. I literally got goosebumps when Tarzan finally did his famous yell, and was swinging across trees. Good stuff.

The CGI work, where it really counted, was Okayish. Some of the action sequences had fakey feel to them and the animals, especially the Gorillas, didn't look that good. They weren't bad per say, but with movies like The Jungle Book and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes showing how good the CGI can get, most of the animals in the movie felt OK at best. I guess those movies have spoiled me.

My main issue with this film was that it felt rushed at a lot of areas, especially the action sequences. Most of them kinda felt sloppy and lazy. Too many cuts, too many close ups, not giving you a good sense of the fights etc. There was also no proper build up a lot of the times, and things would just happen quickly, and then end. It really felt like the movie could have used 15-20 mins more to really straighten out everything for more impact. This also resulted in many characters getting little no development at all. Djimon Honsou, who is a great actor, was almost completely wasted. Would have loved some more depth and detail about him, his tribe and his relationship with Tarzan.
Also, it is a nitpick but there was very little of Tarzan swinging around.

If you like this character, have seen some previous films etc, then you will probably have a good enough time with it. If this is your first time watching a Tarzan film, then you might not get into the story that much, but still I would recommend a try. I ultimately had a good time with it.

The Shallows (2016)

The Shallows is a film about a women who goes to this very secluded beach for surfing, where a big shark attacks and strands her in the shallows, where she must find a way to survive. The only shark attack movies you get these days are the likes of Sharknado, so this being hyped as a proper shark attack film was something I was looking forward to.

From the start, you could tell that this would be a good looking movie. Yeah it felt like a Go-Pro commercial in those starting minutes, but it looked pretty good, so who cares. The beach itself was beautiful, and the director fully utilized the location. Loved the cinematography, well, minus the slow mo shots. There were perhaps a bit too many of them.

Blake Lively looked very lively, and she did a pretty good job. There were moments where I thought she was a bit iffy, but overall she gave a good performance, especially considering the state her character is in for most of the movie. There was some backstory to her character but it wasn't that interesting, so I didn't care much whether her character lived or died, which is something you don't want to happen in a movie like this. The character I did care for was the seagull. You heard me right, it was such a nice touch to add that cute creature as a side character.

The Shark looked great, for the most part. CGI was good enough, but in scenes where they showed too much of the shark, especially in the finale, it started looking fake.

The movie has some intense sequences, that put you on the edge and inject a good amount of thrill, especially the first shark attack, which I thought was awesome. BUT they are very few and far between. And in between, you get a 127 hours type movie, but just not that good, which slows the movie down considerably. You also have to suspend your disbelief a bit too much at time, which was kinda annoying.

All in all, I was hoping for some more build up/suspense and thrill which kinda left me disappointed, BUT still a decent shark attack movie to have come out in a long long time.

7/10

puppet, dude, you should write atleast a line or two with your ratings. Just the basic summary of what you thought about the movie. Or anything related to it.

Trumbo

America and there fascination with Russians , proved to be very fatal for the hollywood ten , trumbo is set in the era of golden age of hollywood where actors and movies were few and were of top quality or some thing you can say original never been seen before .The struggles Trumbo had to go through cause of his beliefs are quite saddening indeed , the guy wasn't unpatriotic but America at its best at that time labelled him as a traitor , acting was top notch from Bryan and Helen , a more lighter side of communism can be seen in Hail Cesar , but a darker struggle that people had to face at that time can be seen in trumbo
