Dude...It's 6970x2....I doubt it will even beat 2x570s (though i wish it does but SLi scales much better!)....Let alone 3x580s!...Don't make up things on ur own!..
Crossfire scaling has improved A LOT with 6xxx series but i doubt this card beating the new 590 very much!...

The (removable) HDD enclosures are also built in such a manner that they provide additional space to graphics card.
