Whats the matter with u ppl.. BOX ART is pure Tekken.. Love the Black n White touch.. unlike crapcom, they show every character in the game on the cover.. simple is better..

and i still think the 1vs1 and 1vs2 is a shit move.. will ruin all the fun.. fuck tht..

Its their way of appealing to the people who haven't played Tekken in a while I guess. Learning 1 character is easier than learning 2.
Still, the damage output 1 character does in rage is pretty ridiculous. 1 combo and you win the match, since you just have to kill the other team's point character

My point exactly... if a single character can do more damage and has more life then a tag team, then why bother playin a team.. screws up the whole concept of Tag battles... and nowadays when i see TTT2 matches.. most of them show ppl playin 1vs1 or 1vs2 ..

and seriously 30 characters are more then enuff.. 50+ are just stupid.. in Tekken, every single character has atleast 100 moves.. instead they shud add more modes like TEKKEN BALL (i really miss tht).. TEKKEN FORCE (Fuck Scenario campaign).. TEKKEN BOWLING etc.. much appreciated..

[h=1]Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Hitting PS3, 360 in September, Pre-Order Bonuses Announced[/h]

Listen up fighting fans, Namco Bandai has sent word that Tekken Tag Tournament 2, which will feature the largest roster of fighters in franchise history, will release the week of September 10, 2012 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In addition, Namco Bandai revealed what fans who pre-order the game can look forward to.

On day-one of Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s launch, those of you that place your pre-orders with Amazon.com and Best Buy will gain access to the Michelle Chang & Angel characters, while gamers who place their pre-orders through GameStop will have exclusive access to fighters Kunimitsu and Ancient Ogre in addition to Michelle Chang and Angel.

“Pleasing our fans is of paramount importance to the Tekken development team, therefore we are giving players full access to the wide array of fighters in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at no additional cost,” said Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken Project Director at Namco Bandai Games Inc. “The roster of playable characters in any fighting game is an essential factor in contributing to a player’s overall experience. By offering DLC characters at no additional cost to players, we are able to deliver a pure Tekken experience to all of our fans.”

“Namco Bandai Games Inc. is working closely with retailers to secure exciting pre-order opportunities for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and deliver premium bonus character content to Tekken fans on launch day,” said Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America Inc. “We’re excited to unveil our exclusive pre-order partners for these well-known Tekken characters and hope to reveal even more exciting content in the near future.”

That all sounds warm and fuzzy, but how do the Tekken fans amongst you feel about having to decide where to pre-order the game to get specific characters? Would you like to see an alternative option or are you happy with getting some and missing out on others?

Also, a special Collector's Edition of the game has been announced for Europe. The “We are TEKKEN” edition will be available exclusively from GAME, come packed in an metal case and include the following content: the original soundtrack of the game and an additional music CD with remixes, an art book with more than 200 pages, a behind the scene video with Harada San and "other special guests" giving you their best Tokyo tips.

As for the game itself, here's an official description to get you up to speed on what you can expect.

Tekken shattered fighting game genre barriers when it unveiled tag based combat with the release of Tekken Tag Tournament in 1999. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 continues to break boundaries with the introduction of one-on-one fighting and solo fighter vs. a tag-team battle. These new modes provide additional gameplay options for seasoned Tekken fans while providing an easier point of
access to new players.

Additional modes include Pair Play, where up to four players can each control a character in the ultimate team battle and the new Fight Lab mode, which allows players to customize the moves and appearance of their training partner known as Combot. Players that clear the Fight Lab mode will have mastered the complexities of Tekken and will gain access to their own customizable Combot.

Hahaha, man it was actually funny seeing people getting butt-hurt about the trailer and box art (clearly two top criteria when judging a game :S).

And to anyone who thinks that this game will not be popular without online mode...we ran group gatherings of a dozen people for almost 2 years on Tekken 6 (which had shit netcode) in Lahore. The entire group is eagerly awaiting this game (oh umvc3, you shall be missed). So if you are commenting in general about the game doing well in Pakistan...I wouldn't be too concerned, playing online does not make a community. Playing offline does.

And if this is actually concern (god forbid) over the success of the game commercially...Tekken is the most sellingest franchise in the world (well, behind BRAWL...but that gets people roiled up). So I wouldn't worry about it. I've really missed playing Tekken because we had to literally split the group when one segment started playing UMVC3 (we needed a break before TTT2) but now the time has come, for BYOC, Dirty Den and CONTROL! to make a return :p

Tekken Producer Fights Fans Over Voice Actors

Any change in a beloved franchise is met with some criticism. Tekken is no exception and a common fan complaint centers around changes in voice actors. Now one of the producers, Katsuhiro Harada, has taken to Twitter to call fans out.

Harada doesn't pull any punches in the lengthy tweet. A repeated theme of the post is that fans need to "grow up" in his view. But he does also explain the challenges of keeping voice work consistent in a game in great detail.

Harada starts by pointing out that we've had Tekken games for sixteen years and that in the intervening decade and a half, how consoles reproduce sound has changed substantially. He also points out that voice actors can have vocal changes over sixteen years. In fact, according to his post several actors have declined to continue due to vocal changes and refused to allow the old vocal data to be reused.
We highly recommend reading the whole post. It's a surprising insight into how game producers develop voices and the difficulty involved in keeping anything in a franchise consistent over a long stretch of time. But we doubt it'll settle any fan complaints. Not even Harada thinks so, as he closes the post with:

Thanks for understanding or not understanding. Whatever.

Pre-Order Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Get 150 Swimsuits

Apparently a big part of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be putting your character in a swimsuit. Yes, all of the characters get swimsuits. Even the animals.

Oh, that's why. To be fair it's not purely about exploiting the hormones of male gamers as female characters also get demure one-pieces. And we're assuming that at least a few male characters get Speedos. Just please let Bob not be one of them.

If you pre-order the game you'll get 150 (!!!) swimsuits in the Big Bikini Bundle. With the huge roster that works out to roughly three swimsuits per character. The pre-order will also include the Snoop Dogg stage and early access to DLC characters.

For those on the fence, or just those that can live without seeing a panda in a thong, the swimsuits may be available as DLC after the game is released.
