SWITCH TO PS4 from PC? Battlefield 1 Ping issue.

Hi All,

I built a pc a few months back and even purchased Battlefield 1 for around 3000 from Origin. This was my first PC and i was really excited as i was getting back to gaming scene after a long gap after ps3.

But i was so dissapointed at the whole pc gaming scene here in pakistan.

There are no nearby server in pakistan or middle east and the minimum ping i can get is 180 which you may already know is guaranteed for an ass whooping especially against the skilled pc players...

Also the community is so small and i have not yet made any friends... back in my ps3 days there were so many pakistani and arab players in my friend list. stuff was happening all the time and overall it was a great fun community.

I am thinking of selling my and getting a ps4:

1) should i get ps4 or ps4 pro?

2) are there battlefield 1 servers in pakistan or at least UAE or other country in ME where pings are good. Heck even 180 ping on console is better because console players are mostly casual.

Yeah, the PS4 community is much bigger and I can get easily 1,2 local players in almost every session.

To answer your questions.

1. Get a PS4 pro (I bought PS4 slim back in October 2017 and sold it in Jan 2018 to upgrade to PS4 Pro. Check this video to know why: Battlefield 1 Multiplayer PS4 Pro vs PS4 Gameplay Stress Tests - YouTube

2. 180ms is not better regardless of platform. But if you are on PTCL you will get that to EU & DXB servers both because of their messed up routing. That is why I switched to Connect 2 months back and I get 30ms to Middle East & 120-130ms on EU. There is packet loss during peak hours but at least you get low ping. And yes, PC, Xbox & PS4 all have Middle east servers. Not sure how you couldn't search for them.
BTW can you tell me your configuration of your PC and where you bought from with the cost? And what are fps like and etc :)

So you are telling me dubai servers are always full on ps4 pro BF1? And those pings are incredible ! even the one to EU servers! is connect available in Lahore too?

The problem with Middle servers with bf1 PC is that they are always Abuses will lead to banin empty. And is there stuttering when the framerate drops below 60 on ps4 pro?

My pc specs:
amd rx580 8 GB
i5 7400
16 gb ddr4 ram
2 tb HDD
256 gb SSD
550 corsair PSU
asus B250F mobo

Now wouldnt be a good time to switch to PC as the prices of components like GPU and RAM have skyrocketed in the recent months... As for me I got my GPU as a gift :) Its price here in pakistan is 40,000... So i guess it doesnt matter if buy ps4 pro AND STILL keep my pc and have a bit of both worlds :)

I wouldn’t say full, But 3-4 servers are always evergreen. Though dlc ones are empty.

You can check their website Connect | Broadband Internet Services & Data Connectivity Provider to check availability in Lahore.

I see, then I’d rather hold off for now.

There are frame drops in intensive moments but still a better performer than the normal one. So it was worth the extra 20k for me.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
