sus p5kpl-am or p5qpl-am need urgent suggestions

I have to purchase a new board for my q9400, right now i can not afford an expensive board. so i am purchasing. the above mentioned board I found cheepest from asus family. the only difference between the two is the chipset p5kpl am is with g31 chipset and the other is g41, both have 2 slots for ram. as 4gb ram is not available in market so practically both can support 4 GB maximum. I already have 2GB ddr2 ram so cannot buy a ddr3 board. I have a 8600GT so the built in GPU doesn't make any difference. the price for both is mentioned below:

p5kpl-am_________ 4500 RS
p5qpl-am_________5500 Rs

now suggest me quickly which should i buy or do i have any other option as I am buying asus for the first time. I have to purchase board tomorrow. so please reply me as urgent as possible.

hmmm
as u don't need the built in VGA so go for P5KPL-AM as the major difference among these two is VGA
P5QPL-AM have a better VGA thats all :)

You stated that you want the cheapest board to run your Q9400. I would say just get the P5KPL-AM.
The QPL one just have a better onboard Graphics Accelerator, which will be useless for you if you already own a GPU.

Umm, you have already stated that you have a GPU , so getting a motherboard with a good IGP wont make any difference in performance,,,,Get the P5KPL-AM..

well if u ask me... then go for p5qpl-am...

1)if due to any reason u hav ur gpu out of order then atleast u have internal to run till the time u replace it
2) p5kpl-am has only one pc express lot .... if u want to add a capture card, firewire or a wireless lan, u will have more slots..... if by any means ur internal soundcard or lan becomes out of order... u can replace it just bu adding it in PC express slot...
3) there are only 2 Sata slots in p5kpl-am, thats horrible.... u can add only one sata HD and one DVD-rom drive.... on the other hand p5qpl-am has 4 sata ports... u can add 2 hdds and with it even 2 dvd-roms....

1k isnt a big difference... but later u will have to buy another Mobo if any of the above things were of ur desperate need...

u r right... i bought that SE and it had one PC exoress slot and 2 SATA ports.... and i thought SE was for special editions :-S

@ OP ... go for p5kpl-AM,,,,infact it has 2 PC express slots and 4 SATA ports...

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
