Subwoofer Boxes: Big Vs. Small

Salam,
hope u guys are doing good
i was just wondering that whats the theory of these enclosures, i just a bought a woofer for my car and thinking to get it fitted in a proper enclosure now the problem is that some of the people are saying to get big enclosure while some are saying to get small enclosure

i am literally confused what to do... which will sound better? i need good punch in the base rather then those huming bass

well i am a little bit into speaker audio though i don't have enough experience with subs or car audio... but i can tell you a little bit as i know audio. That humming stuff is called sub bass region... the lower part... the meat of the bass which matters the most actually.. that is the sub woofer bass(see subwoofer-sub bass, the name connection?)... the "punch" of the sound or the "beat" is called the "mid bass"... the mid bass punch. It is entertaining but is not the best part. The reason that you hate sub bass is because you must have heard the terrible muddy sub bass from sub woofers which every other ordinary music lover/sarcasm, has in their cars. If you get a good sub and a pro box, then you should get a tight punchy bass with clear sub bass instead of the ugly muddy farts that ordinary subs produce. And logically it should be that the bigger enclosure will give you more sub bass while the smaller will give you a tighter punchier bass(mid bass oriented)... get something that will give you "clear" audio, be it sub bass or the upper bass aka mid bass(the punch or the beat as one would call it).

yaar read carefully what i said... i said in the end that a smaller box should give you less of that "rumble" that you don't like and a tight punch of the bass... so go for small as you want that sound... and 15 inches in that closed space? you will bleed your ears

Get a proper sized enclosure. Dont go to shops who use the word "big small". They are illiterate people
Your enclosure size depends on a lot of things. one of which is your sub model.
What do you want? SQ or SPL?
You need a ported enclosure for SPL and a sealed enclosure for SQ
SPL enclosures need to be tuned at a specific frequency.
You can find the necessary enclosure volume online or by reading the woofer manual.
Which sub do you have?

Get the bigger Steep Shaped box. I hope you get the idea of what i am talking about.
It also depend on the space available in your car. The bigger the better. If you want a good quality box you can go to ayesha manzil market for car stereo at Karachi. I bought from there 3-4 years ago. They are actually customised and made someplace there.
