Created by a two-person team, the ambitious game is coming in 2021

Stray is a beautiful new game headed to PlayStation 5. It puts players in the role of a clever cat, lost in a world where humanity has been wiped away, leaving nothing but robots behind. The game was announced Thursday during the Sony PlayStation 5 livestream event.
Developed by BlueTwelve, the game began as a two-person effort called HK Project in 2015. The game is being published by Annapurna Interactive.
Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly,” Annapurna Interactive said in a news release. “Players will play as a stray cat, roaming surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures. Lost, alone and separated from family, players must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity and find the way home.”

The lavish trailer shown during today’s livestream seems to be set in an Asian city where humans have gone extinct. Spray paint in an alleyway read “RIP Humans.” There are homeless robots sitting along the side of the street. Inside an old barbershop one robot is busy repairing another. In the final frame the cat is shown wearing a tiny backpack.
Stray will be released some time in 2021.

Yes, that's an asset streaming stutter. Poor PS4's 5400 rpm hard drive vs the Steam Deck's flash storgae/nvme ssd 🤷‍♂️

I wonder if the PS5 version also has a few streaming stutters. Looking forward to DF's comparison 🤜

But we don't know if the game was running from the SSD or not. PS4 being limited to 30fps while the Steam Deck can run higher makes it a clear winner for me. Pushing well above its weight for a handheld 🤷‍♂️

- All versions suffer from slight stuttering during the loading of some scenarios.
🤷‍♂️:ROFLMAO:
