Does anyone with stormfiber have issues with port-forwarding?
I've added the required ports for Black Ops 3 PS4 but it still shows NAT: Moderate.
Also, I used to get around 150-160ms on WEU servers Rainbow six| siege and now it's so annoying that i get 280-300+ms on WEU.
Their tech support resets my router everytime and welp issue resolved that's what they say.
They're not of any help
It's unfortunate, but I've also been facing the same issues on R6 Siege for the past 2-3 months. Their support claims to be working on optimizing the routes, but seeing as they have shifted to PIE routing, pings to Azure servers will remain this way. On the plus side, 100 ping to SEAS servers isn't so bad. It's sad that the game has not gained as much traction and finding matches is a pain.

Is this normal ?

I am getting a ping of 60ms to dubai (Etisalat and DU server) but for the rest of middle eastern countries I am getting pings around the 220+ ms mark.

Stormfiber Peshawar

Hey guys. So basically, we recentely got Stormfiber here in Peshawar. I wanted to install it for it's low latency, higher download speeds and stability. But according to the recent comments, stormfiber has shifted to PIE for routing. So I went ahead and asked Stormfiber directly about the situation and they confirmed that they are on PIE routing in Peshawar. I have a PTCL 8Mbps connection installed. According to the PTCL guys, we're getting FTTH here in Cantt by april which means I'll be able to get a 50Mbps connection as compared to Stormfiber's 30Mbps and basically the same pings. This is where I need help. Should I install Stormfiber or wait for PTCL's FTTH. Which will be the wiser decision?

Always prefer Storm over PTCL, not even a debate.

And you don't really need more than 20Mbps connection unless your whole household is streaming 4k tbh, so 30Mbps would be best. And Storm can also switch back to TW like they did before. But it's up to you.

Wait what? Stormfiber can switch back to TW? If i recall correctly, someone in this thread said theyve switched to PIE permenantely. If they will switch my line to TW, then there is no comparison between PTCL and Stormfiber.

Currently they are running on TW in Lahore. There were a few instances when they shifted to PIE for a couple of hours but most of the time, it's Transworld. Also, TW gives very good latency in SEA, Dubai and India region not to mention 160ms in EU West.

Unless things have changed since the last time I spoke to a SF rep, they are still on PIE routing for users in Lahore. He clearly said there were no plans to switch back to TW anytime soon.

I have stormfiber and well the connection is extremely stable compared to PTCL , and you will get better Pings but don't expect miracles. I am getting 60ms ping for Dubai Servers but for KSA servers I am getting pings around 250.

So these two are extremes.

Quick question. Does pie or tw and pings matter for someone who is not into gaming? For example i only surf the web and download content plus netflix. If I switch from ptcl to stormfiber will i be better off?

StormFiber in general is much more reliable than PTCL. If you have the option to switch, I would recommend doing so.

Wrong. All connections in Lahore are shifted to PIE afaik, and they are working on moving other connections across the country on PIE too, as they find TW 'unreliable' (even though I have had more problems this month then the last 5 months -_-)

Service degradation during peak-load hours, high latency/ping spikes, YT being throttled randomly, sluggish download speeds. All of this while I've been on PIE routing. I had none of these issues while they were on TW.

If youre not into gaming, pings dont really matter for you that much.
You need raw speed. SF is generally more reliable in the sense it has very few downtimes, their support is really good and their packages are cheaper - you get more speed for the same amount you pay on PTCL.

If you're happy with your current internet connection (with regards to your speed, uptime, customer support) I don't think there's any need to change. Though I would recommend you check out SF's packages. You'll probably get more speed for the same price you were paying on PTCL.

I shifted from PTCL because 1) it was driving me crazy with constant disconnections. Plus its a headache dealing with their staff. 2) I got more speed for the same price.

do a tracert on any random server and see what hops it goes through. If youre on PIE, one or two hosts will show it, same with TW.
