Stormfiber and transworld giving 160 pings? I thought these FTTH connection should give better. My Ptcl 8MB connection gives 160 pings on EU WEST server of LOL.

Means the only benefit is you guys can stream awesomely. streaming on PTCL sucks. and your UL/DL speeds seems amazing too.

Why does people think higher bandwith means lower latency? They are two completely different things. 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) connection will also give 150+ ping on EU server from Pakistan as a 1 Mbps connection.
The major factor for ping/latency is distance so increasing your data bandwith doesn't magically reduces your distance to EU servers.

Yes, I do know this but I thought there must be some difference in fiber and copper connection. I was hoping pings on fiber connection to be somewhat near 140 and that too because I have seen 140 pings in karachi for league of legends EU server.

well just got home and found out that wire wasn't installed till our house. they just installed it to our nearest pole :tv:

hopefully they come tomorrow and install it completely

Looks like the pings have been fixed. I'm still being routed through TW but pings to SGP are 86ms with WTFast and 26ms to Dubai with WTFast.

Any one facing slow speeds while downloading torrent i am getting 2 mb to 1.5 on 4mbps
Plus streaming on iptv is slow too but i am testing the same thing on zong its working fine the issue is with storm fiber. Any one having this issue?

Bro how much time they took to install your connection ?

i paid on the 4th. its been 14 working days on the 24th ( which was the official time told to me by them) but yes they have installed the line till my nearest pole and they told me yesterday it should be completed in 2-3 days so im expecting till friday

Mine Torrent Speed is Fine , but streaming slow on some youtube videos (Speed Reduces to 1mbps),but some videos stream as normal , these are on my laptop i dont have iptv

Hi,

ive been having this issue all day long today in Lahore. The download speeds are terrible in most locations. the 4mbps PTCL connection I got is showing up as nearly 4mbps in all locations. No issues there . Uploads are ok though, but stormfiber are not acknowledging that there are serious download + peering issues. Facebook video streaming, YouTube streaming, and in general website browsing (and uploading e.g. Tinypic took almost 40 second to upload each screenshot on ipad) is extremely slow, for example even small thumbnail downloads are almost crawling. Any thoughts ?

That is the same pattern i have observed .
I tried to test on france servers and it came up to be 512 kbps pathetic service.

welp my connection just got installed. will go home and check. speedtest shows great results tho and also the pings were also fine dubai: 65ms sea:90ms in dota 2

So i got the connection installed 2 days ago. I'm an avid CS GO player and seeing as how all my friends still have a PTCL, i was hoping to play with them on the Dubai server. For the first day, I was getting good and stable pings of 60ms on Dubai and 55ms on India. I was pretty satisfied. But when I checked and tried to play yesterday I saw that I was getting 160ms ping on Dubai and 110ms ping on India. All the other servers seemed to be working fine with optimal pings. Checked today and nothing changed. All I want to know is, will the pings go back to the way they were before or am I going to be stuck with 160ms ping for Dubai? Because if thats the case then I wont be able to play with my friends. Is anyone else facing/has faced this issue before? Looking forward to your responses.

Yesterday received the call from Storm fiber that a team is working in your area pay for your installation and it will be installed today so i rushed out and paid them. its more than a day my connection is still not installed

Kindly call customer service or any representative in your city. Their customer service is better than PTCL, just be patient.

Its actually so weird because my ping on the Asia server is 100ms and on the European server is 150-160ms, which is fine. All other pings seem alright. Its just the Dubai and India pings which have seemed to sky rocket for some reason. I called them they told me my routing was with TW and hadnt changed since I got the connection so I have no clue as to whats wrong. Any insight into this issue would help.
