As you will be shooting from Far only wireless based Mics gonna work out for you
Amazon.com: Saramonic SR-WM4C Wireless Lavalier Microphone System for Canon 6D 600D 5D2 5D3 Nikon D800 Sony DV DSLR Camcorders: Electronics

or you can go completely cheap by using Handsfree attached to Mobile and recording audio through that and slapping the audio to video in any video editing software

then i think shotgun mic will help you out and in the cheaper range
Takstar SGC-598 is Good choice seem some reviews and test on Youtube

i believe you can attach a bigger cable end to end and make it work as a Handheld mic for interview

or you can go with this

Amazon.com : Neewer 14.37 inch Photography Camera Camcorder Uni-Directional System Condenser Shotgun Interview MIC Microphone for Canon Nikon Sony Olympus Pentax Panasonic and Other HDSLRs DV Camcoders : Professional Video Microphones : Camera & Photo

yar cheaper shotgun mics pickup enough ambient noise to make them not super effective...but if I can use it with an extendable wire..that would be truly useful

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
