Smallville's Kristin Kreuk to play Chun Li in new Street Fighter flick

Remember that Street Fighter film we heard about a while back? Remember how we thought Jessica Biel might be playing the lead role of Chun Li? Well, it turns out it's Kristin Kreuk instead, everybody's favorite Lana Lang.

ComingSoon.net reports that the Smallville star has signed on to star in Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, the live-action adaptation of Capcom's classic fighting franchise. Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, 20th Century Fox will be distributing the film, which begins filming in Thailand next March. Will Kreuk be able to fill Chun-Li's tiny shoes? And, more importantly, does she know how to perform the Hyakuretsu Kyaku? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

ehh ??? She doesnt look like Chun Li figure wise at all... she so tiny and slim... Chun Li's body is more like man... specially her Legs...

She'd make a good Chunli, but the point is the movie will still suck no matter. Fighting games have very difficult narrative to turn into movies, thus the movie will probably have lots of fighting and no story at all. It worked with Advent Children, but I doubt it'll work here.

Well i don't know why are you guys criticizing her acting. She is one of the main characters in Smallville and the season currently the 7th season is being aired. Personally i think she is a great picks since she is half Chinese and has acting experience as well.
