You need an active ptcl line in order to get broadband. No other way afaik. And to use a famous saying "line line hoti hai fiber ho ya copper."

well my line is on optic fibre and i still have to pay the line rent.you can either call their customer service or make a twitter account and ask https://twitter.com/PTCLCares

Today I have seen how corrupt PTCL is. I have a 4mb connection hence my downstream should be 4096 in Modem. Today I checked it was 1024 hence 1 MB. I contacted the PTCL department and they said that my connection is still is 4 MB. My bill are all cleared. Now guys any advice what to do...

it could be a technical problem i also had this problem you can either tell them that im still on 1mb or tell this [MENTION=24169]ptcl[/MENTION]cares on twitter he solves every internet based problem

I get 0 Line Rent on my Fiber Connection. Here's the Evidence :

Well firstly you'll need a new phone line on which your Broadband will work, but get in contact with your area lineman and conform that is your area exchange is equipped with Fiber or as just simply ask him that have you ever provided PTCL Fiber Connection/Connections to the people in my area. Only on Fiber you'll be charged 0 Line Rent no matter what your package is. Also remember don't even consider a single joint in your line, if its possible during the whole line and broadband installation process keep an eye on everything.

Guys i also got no line rent added in bill. Well the reason is to just order for Pakistan Package charged @ 250 if you have a broadband connection, otherwise it is @450. Like this you will have zero line rent in your bill. Simple.

Note: And to mention the line is on copper

So, line rent is not fiber or copper dependent .

Yes he cant just get broadband. . Broadband is an added-value feature to your phone line. Aisay tou hum sub ki mojein na ho jaye just Rs. 2100 ka bill

Since the truth is in front of everyone and there's also no Pakistan Package subscription, so therefore its kind of stupid to say that I'm on Pakistan Package or something that's why I'm being charged 0 line rent.

When did you get your connection? Was it a couple of years ago?
Cause whatever we're talking about are the recent policy changes that PTCL has brought about.

I have to pay the line rent regardless of i use the phone or not, which is why I recently got myself converted to Pakistan Package.

Well maybe you can share a complete picture of your bill? So, that we may know the actual charges you are getting. You can strike out the CNIC, NTN stuff etc

Thats Rs.200 savings man :S I don't use the phone at all, so Line Rent really feels like a thorn to me.
