Salam all I have two questions and need your helpful and experienced advice

1) How do you guys check your bill online at dbill.ptcl.net.pk ans what is the account Id thing never received that from PTCL ?

2) The important question : I have been using broadband student 1Mb for 3 months now want to switch to 2MB so whats the best way to get this done in time and with the least of khuari as forums are full of zalalat and khuaris when switching packages. Need to know who to call, when and whom to follow up and whats to do incase the 2MB account gets active and speed is 1MB which is also the case with many people.

if the box then its ~200 meters away

if he has changed your pair many time and condition is still not improving then i think you are out of luck,the best solution would be to lower your package to 1 MB,this will improve your SNR.

even lowering to 1mb didn't help

i was thinking about evo 3g but u guys saying its not good
its okay for me if i can get 200kbps speed, thats enough fo me
P.S we use 2 to 3 computers plus 2 mobiles at home so 1mb is too slow

Problem is that it won't be stable. I can sometimes get speed as high as 320 kb/sec but then there are also sudden and annoying drops to speed lower than 1 mb. I do get average speed of 1 MB but i live a very remote area and not a big city(currently in Nawabshah) so the number of users is less + full signals give such speed otherwise i remember it wasn't that good in Islamabad.

Its "Landline Bill" option in that link.

You require TWO things.

• Your Phone Number (without Area Code) ... it'll start from some like 37xxxxxx (note the additional 3)
• Your Account ID - If you have your previous phone bills with you, then Account ID along with your phone number is written at Top Left corner of the bill, Beside the Due Date.

Forums are not the right place to ask about this anyway. MOST of the people whining about their problems in this thread are either too lazy to get up and visit the exchange to meet the Proper Authority, or they are Too annoyed by their problems.

If you want to upgrade to 2MB, The fastest way for this is to visit your Local Exchange and meet your Area Broadband Manager.
Everything will be obvious from onwards.

If you feel by any means that they are not cooperating then time to go higher and visit the Main Exchange and meet the General Manager of Broadband Pakistan.

Thankyou very much for your detailed answer. I do agree with your point of being lazy and whining cause I had to put a hell of fight to get the PTCL line and broadband installed or I would have been only complaining about them. Secondly from the day of installation the connection has been outstanding getting constant 1.20MB speed on 1MB ptcl and not once disconnected and with SNR of 34DB and attenuation of 16DB which are outstanding so definitely looking forward to the 2MB experience ; )

Need help , i just got my ptcl 1mb installed today , the entire copper line was changed , the internet was working fine till afternoon Sunday , but now it keeps disconnecting and the dsl light blinks , it gets stable the after few minutes of slow web browsing it blinks again (disconnects)

What is the issue ?

2MB pACKAGE HAI to sahi 1500 mein maine kraya hua hai lekin speed utni he arahi hai 2 months se main 1500 de raha hoon maine abh downgrade kara liya hai... and disconnct bhi boht ho raha tha jbh main apne phone ko busy rakhta to disconnect nahi hota tha wese hota tha har 30 second baad

To all having problems with disconnections.
1)Get a good quality splitter from the market and see if situation change.
if not
2)Ask you line man to check you phone line for any bad joint and if this does not work,ask him to change your pair.

If luck favors you then your problem will be solved otherwise you will have to suffer like me

Thank you for your advise , yes i happen to find my problem lying in my splitter provided bt ptcl , when i connected the phone line directly to the modem the internet was working just fine but the draw back was that i could not use my phone , time to get a new splitter (any suggestions on splitter or just to get a generic one )

hi guys facing a little problem that my when i set modulation to g.dmt in my modem which Echolife hg510a,it works fine till the point when i power it off but when i power it on,it resets the modulation to default and i have to again set it to g.dmt.
any workaround to make it permanent?

I bought a PTCL EVO Cloud device.

I paid 2000 at the start of each month and to use it.

In November i didnt make the payment, so they disconnected my device after 3 days.

Now this month I went back to get the device activated again and they said I must clear the bills for November and December first!!!

WTF is this ???

What should I do ?? Why should I pay 4000 extra when the device wasnt even active then !!

Upload speed is always capped by your ISP to 1/4th of your Actual Download.
