I don't know why PC fanboys become blind when it comes to suboptimal PC ports.
Most ports are a big headache to play on a PC.
PC gaming is only good for PC exclusives, or games published by Microsoft Studios which perform flawlessly on a PC.

You have made the right decision in buying a console. But I suggest that if you have a PC gaming machine, you should switch to a PS5 instead for optimal gaming experience.

XBox game ports play perfectly on a PC. No issues with Horizon Forza 5 on my PC.
But Sony ports are riddled with performance issues on PC that makes them frustrating to play even on high-end systems.

I tried to play Uncharted 4 on PC, but gave up after Chapter 10 due to poor optimization, and bought a PS5 remaster version that plays flawlessly. Many other PS ports on PC are horrendous. So, a PS5 is a must for any gamer.

this is how the precision aim works for me, gets precise in a second, if you move, it loses precision while moving but becomes precise again when movement stops, just the way it worked in RE2 as well.

The cursor literally behaved erratically twice in your clip saeeen lol

I don't know ap kis cheez ko eratic keh rahe ho saeen, it works just like Re2make, stops being precise when moving the aim but becomes precise instantly when stopping movement.

Doesn't get clearer than that. Baaki aap ghalat fehmi me khush ho to aapki marzi. Its not like having the benefit of owning both consoles will allow for an interlacing-free experience 😂

Aaap Alex se larh lo yaar, he literally wrote "interlacing/checkerboarding that is used on consoles". Aap pata nahi kis denial me ho. Either way, its not forced on PC so that's the only platform where you have a choice for pristine IQ without interlacing/checkerboarding artefacts and properly working hairworks 🤷‍♂️

Saeen its good ap PC pe na use karo, clearly we have demonstrable examples that the IQ and effects are degraded much more beyond anything on the console. 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, hopefully the deadzone issue is addressed in the day 1 patch as well.

RE2/3 RT patches came after Village so your sources are outdated anyway 🤷‍♂️

But zaroorat hi nahi, not a demanding game on PC and there is FSR2 support as well for those who need it. Consoles can keep that exclusively poor IQ.

Returnals "it's not interlacing but checkerboarding" or whatever resolves an image worst than PC with ~800p DLSS. These things are god awful stop using them when fsr2 is there on consoles. But maybe fsr2 hit to CPU is a bit too much here?

It's because you only have the frame of reference of the bad implementation on PC.

The implementation on console is much better.

Also problematic is that anti-aliasing seems to be broken. Comparing PC with 'interlacing' enabled, which is a match for the checkerboarding on consoles, it's easy to see that the PC version is missing a lot of edge smoothing and delivers a lot more in the way of untreated edges. Even when switching to native resolution rendering, the PC version still seems to be getting less AA filtering than the Series X version, while shadow dithering artifacts seem to increase too as a consequence.

My frame of reference is seeing it on a PS4, PS5 with returnal and a few PC games like watchdogs 2 which can use "checkerboarding" on PC. Checkerboarding is ugly and ancient way of upscaling next to DLSS, which has existed since 2018. It's 2023 and console games are still using checkerboarding.. that's laughable

The setting was busted in Village, but was fixed at the engine level in both RE2R/RE3R with the RT patch.

Here is Alex mentioning again that consoles use interlacing.




Not sure why Chandoo keeps denying this fact by using outdated implementation as seen in Village. 🤷‍♂️

I have both a gaming PC with decent specs (i7 12th gen, 16 GB RAM with 8 GB available VRAM), and a PS5.
And believe me, playing on a console is a far smoother experience than the gaming PC that cost me more.
What's the point spending $2000+ on a gaming PC when you can't even enjoy a perfect gaming experience similar to a $500 console? PC = A definite no-value for money.

I have the purchasing power to even buy a $4000 i9 32GB VRAM gaming rig within a few months. But I will never buy it, as games on even the best PC rigs are not as flawless as a console that cost a fraction of the latest rig.
When you spend a hell lot more, you expect to be treated like a VIP, and not as a beggar waiting for the devs to release patches.
I have never faced issues with my $500 console games, with no requirement of any patches to fix serious issues.

This dude, an ex-PC gamer and now mainly a console player, has a logical take on why PC games these days suck as compared to consoles.


Even Digital Foundry experts criticize recent PC games such as Gotham Knight (9:15+) for performance scaling issue, jittery movement in cutscene animations, and broken cloths' physics on even the high spec i7 13 gen RTX 4090 and even after the patch. The experts agree PS5 version is the best with unblemished performance, albeit at 30fps (14:25).


PC fanboys seem to be in a state of denial (or living in a cave),
or they have some miracle rig that plays everything flawlessly. :p

PC gamers who chide consoles probably never had the luxury to enjoy gaming on a console, or living in a delusional fantasy world far apart from reality.

He shows that AA is more flickery on the PC version of RE2 compared to console. That the game is not using little to no previous frame data. :geek:

Additionally the TAA not working along with RE Engines sharpening makes the game even more noisier, "it's barely working on Resident Evil 2 on PC" :geek:

Saeen yahi pe to ap ghalti kar rahe ho. Sure, the baseline reconstruction TECHNIQUE might be the same.

But the end result is *CLEARLY* different across the two. The key component of temporal upscaling, the TAA portion, is almost completely busted on PC resulting in the shimmery, un-treated noisy image. This is evidenced very clearly in Alex's video with the latest RT updates.

And that shimmery, un-treated, noisy image is what you and pasha are using as a base for "this is what interlacing must look like"

I'm only rightfully pointing out to you that the still-somewhat busted implementation on PC is not reflective of how it looks on console.

But you're incorrectly assuming that we are basing that on how it looks on PC and going on a rant about it. We've all seen direct feed images from consoles across 3-4 RE games recently and it looks bad to us.

Hum to native khel rahe hain. Implementation has issues on PC, but the same TECHNIQUE option is present there. That's all we sayin' bruh 🤷‍♂️
